NYC-Runner Build Thread

How are the tires doing in this wild winter? Thinking about trying out that same setup

There doing great i love these tires!I haven't had to use 4wheeldrive once yet and i've driven in some pretty bad weather and snow storms. Here and there i've had to turn off the Track/VSC because it gets annoying when it keep cutting out the power but once thats off they cut thru just about anything :roadkill:

Well i figured i'd update since my build popped up :) Not much is really new aside from adding some AVS window vent visors , have just slowly been getting things pieced together for upcoming Mods. Its hard to get even the simple things done like re plasti dipping the wheels in the winter with the weather and zub zero temps. Really wish i had a big heated garage right about now:pray: Although i think i'm going to bake and paint my headlights next weekend i'm starting to go through withdrawal :twitch:

Got my 40" SR light bar from Expedition Outfitters now just waiting to get the rest of my 6" 18w flood lights and then gotta drop the rack off at my buddy's shop to get the mounts and rack all welded up and then get everything wired up!

I also got all the mesh and just received my FJ emblem in the mail for my satoshi grill, now just waiting on the touch up paint and will be ready to go!

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys and hitting some trails in a couple of weeks @Wharton State park in NJ on the 8th

heat? bake?

who needs that?

headlamps can be out in 10 minutes, i took them out too many times now LoL

bake? too time consuming. heat gun and it will be opened in 10 minutes!

You need to order up some nice switches if you installing those lights :)

LOL i like your attitude! I swear i'm doing them this weekend i've been putting them off too long, especially now since i'm not going to be able to make it out with you guys i have a extra free day on my hands:sadwave:

And Yeah i just ordered 4 switches last night from OTRATTW, i guess i should of got a extra just incase i do the front lights in the grill at the same time.

NICE yeah i love the retrofit it's definitely on my to do list! For now i just wanna get them blacked out,,

So thats cool then i'm going to try the heat gun method that you did, let me as you in that video when you where re heating the silicone did you use some extra silicone to ensure it completely sealed properly? Cause you had black silicone on there and the stock is clear right? If so which silicone did you use? Thats my biggest concern is making sure there properly sealed, i've seen too many occasions where guys rush and do a shi*y job and then end up with moisture in the headlights and it looks like sh**

I went with AVS in channel visors , Although i think when i installed them it was too cold or the tape just wasn't good so on a couple of the windows the tape did not properly stick so if i roll the window down and back up it hits the visor so i called them and they are sending me new tape strips for the visors.I know other members on here have them and i don't think have had any issues so hopefully the new tape will take care of it. This time i'll try to redo them when it's a little warmer or when i'm in a heated garage. I think they where around $60 bucks from autoanything.com but i like these ones because i think there more low profile then the other brands..

i sell and install so many vent visors, i do not recommend in channel ones. nothing but problems. laws of physics...two things cant occupy the same space. vent visor in the channel AND glass...bound to have issues.

The front driver side window is works fine it's just the other three,, i'll try the new tape they send me if that still doesn't work then i'll just return them and get different ones...

Rola Brackets

It's been a few months since you put those brackets to lower the Rola rack, how have they been holding up? How strong are they? I'm looking into doing the same to my rack

They've been great and really makes the rack sit nice and flush, as far as the strength I haven't tested the rack with anything extreme and fully loaded it down but it's definitely much more solid than when it was sitting in the cross bars.If you have the rola rack I highly recommend getting them as it's a cheap/easy upgrade to add extra strength/stealthness to your set up!

Sweet. How much did it cost to re route exhaust? Which shop did it. I'd like to do that to mine. Truck looks sweet.

I can't say for sure because I also had the shop put a muffler in and then do 2.50 in pipe from the muffler back but all in all I think it was a little more than $100 ? But they had to custom bend all the pipe to get it to fit properly and then route it out behind the rear tire.

I'm sure if your just re routing the tail pipe it would be much cheaper.

Also I did it at a shop upstate near where I'm from, I don't know exactly where your located because I'm using tapatalk. But if your in or around the city I'm sure there's million muffler shops that would do it for you and cheap!

Added the weather tech digital fit floor liners and husky cargo liner about a week ago. Man there awesome should of been the first thing I did and should be on everybody's #1 list!

I put the WeatherTech digital in the front of mine this week. With all this snow we've been having I think you made a good call on those! I cheaped and skipped the back though.

Why you do not skimp out on the rear! thats from one day offroading in the pines!

Nooo way I couldn't skip the backs either, mine almost look like that without the wheeling with the kids in/out and all weather we've been getting hit with.
