O2 sensor - Bosch vs. Denso

Hi all,

I have a 2000 Limited Auto 4WD, needing to replace O2 sensor (throwing the code for it). I have California emissions on mine, and the sensors are a little more expensive than for Federal emissions. The Denso is much cheaper than the Bosch, but if the Denso is junk then I will gladly buy the Bosch. Anyone have experience with either/or/both? Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, the Runner is stock, if it makes any difference on the sensor quality I need.

There's been a lot of threads discussing this it seems. If it were me, I'd go with Denso, or get the OEM part directly from Toyota. And they definitely aren't cheap.

A lot of people have reported problems with using the cheaper sensors, mainly because they're not getting teh correct one. Just make sure you're getting the correct part, and double-check the part number before installing it. O2 sensors for Fed emissions are NOT the same as the A/F sensors found on Calif. emissions vehicles.

Denso seems like the way to go... I bought a Denso sensor from URD (www.urdusa.com)
for just under $100... I never bothered checking if I had Cali emissions as I'm in PA and the truck has been in PA all it's life... needless to say I have California emissions. :bash:

my 4runner was previously registered in PA. I had it shipped to Tx when I bought it.

It has Cali. emission equip.

Just goes to show that no matter where you are, or where you bought your vehicle, you'll never know until you look.
