I need to pull some codes from my system because my '99 is cutting out, and flashing the check engine light. However, when I take it to an auto parts store & the like they are unable to read it. Some have said that this is because my 4runner was originally sold in Canada, and it may have a different protocol.
Has anyone come across a similar problem? Any thoughts. I would like to purchase one of the Bluetooth adapters to use with the Android app Torque, but I have no clue if it will work.
