And the extra weight of those will help you drop a tad lower too (garage clearance concern).

That rack looks quite nice Mike. Creative installation too. How do you plan to address those rust areas? Maybe you have some POR-15 or the like lying around...

The sliders are only maybe 60# total, and the RCI skids another 65#, but those go up front. Guess I need more junk in my trunk [emoji102][emoji57]

EDIT: I need to formulate a plan to attack the rust sooner than later, too

Mike, it seems that those weight figures are deltas, meaning that you took into account the weight of what was or will be removed (factory "skids" and running boards)?

I seem to recall sliders being closer to 100 lbs. From my notes:

stock skids - 17 lbs
stock running boards - 30 lbs

Looking at this picture a 2nd time I notice that your lightbar looks to be in the perfect position to be smashed to pieces while on the trail. hoto:

I love the front end, otherwise. Buy a Savage Offroad front end Skid, paint it and the D-Links red and we'd be near twins.

BTW I haven't had a front plate since 2010 and LEO has never bothered me.

Actually, I'm just adding up the shipping weights from the UPS package of the sliders and the UPS labels on the RCI skids I'm about to receive

RCI skids arrive Wednesday, thanks to the group buy, and I will probably move the light bar to my roof basket.

You've mentioned your license plate / LEO experiences before, but I'm a virgo.

2 garages with 6'3" clearance in 2 days and my own garage with 6'5" max height are killing my 6'6" total height vibe

Might have to remove the basket and put the factory crossbars back on *sadface*

Had a buddy back in the day who lifted his CJ5 or something like that (I had an FJ40), did so in his pop's garage over the winter. When done he realized that it was too high to drive out! Remember going-over there, helping him take off the rack, and that was not enough. Had to take a lot of air out of the tires. I never let him forget that one...

I had a lifted 4x4 diesel Excursion that I couldn't take anywhere that had a garage, sucks for underground parking.

Front springs update 265580

Replaced my old factory coils with toytech/eibach 112-620 coils on the first notch of my 5100 tundra billiies today.

I removed the 1/4" spacer I had installed on the drivers side, we will see how it settles in after a few weeks.

Measurements before (1/4 tank gas)
Driver side
Hub 2 Fender: 22.25
Ground 2 Fender: 37.5

Pass side
Hub 2 Fender: 22.25
Ground 2 Fender: 37.5

Measurements after (1/4 tank gas)
Driver side
Hub 2 Fender: 23.25
Ground 2 Fender: 38.75

Pass side
Hub 2 Fender: 23
Ground 2 Fender: 38.25

I will drive it around and let the front coils settle in and measure again.

Installing a diff drop next weekend just to be safe

Our Alabama Hills camping trip was a bust, our wheeling/camping friends had visit his sick dad in NV so we slummed it in LA and saw School of Rock at the Pantages on Saturday night.

Pulled my driver side running board to start temping in my sliders.

Pulled my bumper to re route trans cooler lines and install my winch, which did not happen.

I spent too long reclocking the winch to make the handle accessible trough the ARB, and the the supplied bolts aren't long enough to go through the roller fairlead and the bumper and I need to figure out where to install the control box so it doesn't completely block my radiator. So I had to bail on the winch install.

Installed my RCI skids, well the front one. The trans skid was too short, because I have a 2WD and my trans crossmember is father back than the 4WD, so I have to make a 10" x 24" adapter plate first. Bummer. Also not thrilled that the RCI skid leaves the corners of the radiator exposed. Dangit.
