Odd (hopefully not) rear led conversion issue

Fantastic morning to you all. 13 LTD GMG.So I changed out the rear lights to LED, EXCEPT the reverse. Now when I reverse the rear turns also come on. I also notice an ever so slight blinking light coming from the reverse light on the side the turn signal is blinking.

I installed the necessary inline resistors. However, to install these I installed one side on the bulb wire and kinda just poked around in the harness plug with the other end of the wire to find out which one would stop the hyperflash. When I found a wire that worked I used it. I then visually noted which wire it was and copied the same thing on the other side.

I'm thinking there is an overflow of current running through the board on the rear taillights. Will changing the reverse bulbs over to LED help this? I'm planning on doing that but feel that that wont help. Any suggestions other than changing over to the new style taillights with the new harness?

On a side note I did install the FX-R III with Gatling shrouds. I could try to answer any questions if one of you were on the fence about it. It's pretty involved.

Hi fury,

:ohwell: Sounds like you did a little 'guessing' when approaching this wiring project but to do it right, you have to plot this from start to finish, never guessing! I think your best bet... put it back the way it was and then start fresh with Toyota's 'ORIGINAL' wiring scheme! If you give us a little more information with EXACTLY what you're installing, and perhaps a few pics (harnesses, connectors etc), someone can assist with much better clarity! Best to you!

Cheers
