I really missed the extended mirrors from my Jetta, especially where I live because cars can come from anywhere.

I ordered a set through my local dealer and installed them this weekend. It took about 2-3 minutes per mirror, most of it taken up with disconnecting the heater element connector and polishing out my finger prints.

The wide angle inserts make it so you can see cars whose nose is even with your B pillar. They also give some visibility into the next lane over which catches vehicles approaching from the rear which are about to merge into the lane I am about to merge into. An unexpected bonus is that the RAV4 mirrors have an anti-glare coating on them which the stock mirrors do not.

10/10 would highly recommend for all owners

I was going to install these today but when I opened the box delivered they sent me the wrong mirrors. What a let down.

I checked out the part numbers provided and couldn't fine any with the smaller inset mirror, they were all just the plain mirrors.

Just saw the updated part numbers; so when they say "no blind spot" is that referring to the electronic system or is it referring to the smaller mirror inset into the larger mirror?

The correct part number should include the main mirror and the blind spot mirror as one assembly

So if they will not fit, I will have some for sale for what I paid for them.
Any ideas on ones that might fit my 12?

Installed mine last Thursday, still getting used to them, but I love being able to see cars in my blindspots that I wasn't able to see before!

You could replace the side mirror housing with the new version.

it is non adjustable but they work well, and its nice not to have to mess with the little mirrors.

No, but they're angled to give you a different view than the main part of the mirror

After a while of using these you'll get used to just looking at the regular part of the mirror and having things pop out at you with the smaller mirror. You will find you really don't need to look at it for it to work.

I bought the Rav4 mirrors for $40 ea and installed them today.

1) It was very unsettling pulling the mirrors apart like something was going to break. I should have use the screw driver and twist method.
2) The original driver’s side has brass tabs but passenger’s side doesn’t. But the Rav4 mirrors have brass tabs on both sides. I know some people prematurely removed the tabs on the Rav4 driver’s side so pay attention.
3) The brass tabs can be removed without cutting. You have to press the little tab down with screw driver and it will come out.
4) A plastic tab broke and fell out of the driver’s side Rav4 mirror after moving it through the whole range of motion. I compared to the original driver’s side mirror and it looked like the plastic tab was also broken off sometime ago. So this might be normal.

Overall this was a good and easy mod.

This was an easy mod and I really like the upgrade. The removal and install was just as described. I bent the tabs inward to clear the opening in the mirror base housings instead of removing them, just my approach. IMO this mod is worth the money, now to just get used to them being there.

Did this on my daughter's 2018 TRDORP and didn't have to do anything to the brass tabs, the housing side on both mirrors have guide slots for the brass tabs to go through, the tabs are just for additional tension to lessen vibration.
