Off Road Pics (Pic Heavy)

Went up to Hungry Valley yesterday with Offroadguy and a few others. Some pics below.

Btw, did some mudding and now my starter is acting up. When I turn the key, nothing but a click. After turning the key on/off a few times, the engine starts right up. It's not the battery. Ideas? Maybe mud in the starter?

Went up this VERY steep/sketchy hill. It wasn't until we came down on the other side that we saw the sign restricting access to full size vehicles.

what about a bad or dirty ground? clicks are mainly from bad ground to the batt. just a though. ps. thos pictures make me want to go! (no mud tho)

Yeah, I learned my lesson with mud awhile back, but I took my sister and her bf for the first time. They wanted to try what everyone else was doing. After a brief *sigh*...I said okay. And now I regret it...

I'll check the contacts and the ground tomorrow. Thanks for the response guys!

Cool pics man! Looks like an awesome group! Let me know if you ever come to Central Cali, we'll hit some good trails... glad you didn't pay attention to that Jeep trail sign. Lol it clearly says not for Heeps, nothing about Yotas ha... (just be careful)

Edit: but in all seriousness like the [MENTION=60147]the kid[/MENTION] said those signs do mean what they say! In your case it looks like the sign was put there for safety reasons, usually those trails signs are trying to keep you on the trail and off of vegetation/protected land and such. It looks like it's all open grounds over there so I'm sure the sign has to be there for safety reasons.

im not sure if you went up because you didnt actually see the sign untill later or you just ignored it, but either way dont post the pic -if you went up before you saw the sign then why even post the pics you are incriminating yourself.

overall it looks like you guys had fun, and yeah i dont think you have a starter issue, i think its more of a bad connection, or bad ground some place check your battery and or wires/leads

lol@thekid you sound like a Mod now. We went up from the backside and there was no sign posted. I was the first one up and I didn't want to go down the front side because it was to narly. So I went around, I've seen where one wrong move and you start tumbling. I was surprised the guy in the Jeep behind me took off down first and a couple rigs followed him and Thats what brought the Ranger over. He was cool about, just asked the rest of the group to go around. To say idiots its a bit strong, foolish yes, but we all had a blast. In hindsight those signs should be bigger.

As Offroadguy said, we went up on the backside which had no signs. The picture with the sign is the side we came down on and we didn't even notice it until the ranger came and pointed it out. As soon as he pointed it out, we radioed everyone else up top to take a different, much safer path down. The group hardly lacked common sense, nor were we idiots with no regard for the rules. Sign wasn't there...that's it.

I appreciate your concern and I'll assume the harsh words were because you thought we deliberately broke the rules. I'll admit, the picture and description was misleading. I'm still leaving the photo up...but I'll change the description a bit so others don't attack.

No, but 4x2 can do this park. The place was mostly packed dirt roads with rougher trails that snaked off the main path. You can get around and pull over to see 4x4s tackle the rough stuff.

I've been fighting with the starter on my own '96, especially the top bolt which is being stubborn...
