Another beast on 35's.

The Coastal Offroad bumper kit is available at: website | 1996-2002 4Runner. It's specifically designed to clear 35's at full compression lock to lock steering with no body lift!

My rigs tubbed and on Pitbull Rocker Radials 35x12.5x17. I've wheeled it four times since finishing everything up and am very stoked to say I only rub in one spot. That spot it the gas tank filler neck cover. I'm pretty sure I can live with that. lol

These Pitbulls are massive compared to most 35's so I had to go a little bigger and get a little more aggressive with the cutting. I also pounded the crap out of the inner fender wells. Think 8lb sledge hammer. My battery box is now tilted and my airbox needed new mounting points. It was a ton of work to make it work but it was worth it.

don't do it until you can regear. It will put a lot of strain on your whole drivetrain. You will get around but in Montana there are to many mountains and you will hate it. and off road the loss of gearing will offset the benefits of 35's

I’ve been running 315’s for about 2.5 years now without any issues. I live in BC Canada where there are plenty of steep hills and mountain climbs. I still have the stock windshield washer tank in.

Did plenty of cutting and re welding in the front. Only cutting I did in the rear was for the furthest back / bottom part of quarter panel. The rest I just massaged with a hammer

- Do you rub the UCA at full drop? A little, but it’s been shaved
- Are you running wheel spacers, if so how big are they? 1.25” in the front, nothing in the rear
- Are you running a body lift, if so how much? No
- Auto or manual, and what R&P gears are you running? Auto, stock 4.30

I have a similar setup to you (except no body lift)

My Hub to Fender:

F: 23 3/4"

R: 25"



I rubbed there as well and ended up trimming/ folding the pinch weld but would still get some rub.



Recently I installed SPC upper control arms and set them in the F Setting with the LCA bolts maxed out.

Before and after an alignment I now clear by a mile (even flexed out and lock to lock) and no more frame rub when turning :guitar3:

This setting pushes the wheel forward in the wheel well which is how the clearance is gained. I highly suggest these arms



Only place I rub now is on the rear bumper at full stuff where the mud flap would bolt

Well I finally took the plunge into 35's. Re-geared to 4.88 and added a Posi-trac diff to the rear, and Truetrac for the front. Took my rig out with a group last weekend on a run to Bodie, CA and I couldn't be happier.

- Do you rub the frame at full lock? No
- What specific tire size and brand are you running? Nitto Grappler M/T 35/12.5/17
- Do you rub the UCA at full drop? No
- Are you running wheel spacers, if so how big are they? Yes 1.25"
- Are you running a body lift, if so how much? Yes, 2"
- Auto or manual, and what R&P gears are you running? Manual, 4.88

one nice build you got there! Are those 35x12s? assuming yes, did you have to get a different backspacing to fit or did stock backspacing work? I just put a 3 inch lift on mine and was about to buy 35x12 to slap on and I'm concerned the upper control arm is going to just be rubbing the tire.

What does a 96 need as far as lift to run 35s? My daughter is set on putting a set on her rig. Currently she only has a Revtek leveling donuts. Stock gearing as far as I know. She has already removed the stock running boards and fender flairs for her current tires.
