Haven't been to meet up. I will try to make it down for a little. Coming back from Hawaii either that morning or the night before.

It would be a pleasure to meet more local 3rd gen Bay Area owners.

I'm down in Clovis on a work assignment for the next few months. I haven't met any of you guys yet, but I really enjoy the videos. I look forward to the opportunity to hang out and check out everybody's rigs. I've been saving the LED gauge/dash lights mod for my next project. I might bring those along to work on while I'm there.

hey bay area 3rd gen brothers, the stormy california weather seems to be mostly past us now so [mention=102606]infamousrnr[/mention] (sean) and i figured it was time for a another meet-up to wrench, shoot the shit, eat bbq and drink beer, not necessarily in that order.

Our idea is we could decide on 3 people's rigs to work on, 1 in the garage and 2 in the driveway. If your rig isn't one of the ones we're working on, you can lend a hand with whichever sick mod or repair you have knowledge about or are interested in.

this will be a pot luck / byob. i will take care of providing the meat for smoking and grilling, just bring a side dish or dessert and your favorite beverage to share with the rest of your brothers or sisters in case there's a local gal who'd like to join the party.

date: saturday, may 13th
time: 9am until whenever

the more the merrier. If you're a local 3rd gen 4runner owner or other gen 4runner owner, or if you just like toyotas, or whatever, you're welcome.

i've got a 2002 2wd with 202k miles on it and my brother-in-law just taught me how to do my front rotors and pads yesterday. i'm considering doing the tundra upgrade now.

i'm also looking into doing the following myself, but if you'd like to make vids out of any of them i'm willing to volunteer!

- brake fluid
- radiator flush
- transmission flush
- rear diff fluid drain/fill
- replace spark plugs
- replace the timing, ac, p/s, alternator belts
- fuel filter
- replace lower ball joint
- disable DRL
- deckmod and ISR

future mods:
- convert rear drums to discs
- replace tie rod ends
- replace sway bar links, coil springs, and strut assemblies

Yeah, that's a whole lot of modding. I'd need some more equipment to do work like that. I don't own a welder or know how to weld but maybe in the future.

I am going to do axles and spindle gussets longer sway bar links and install my rear SS brake line
To bad you don't have a welder or I'd be down to wait till the meet.

I'm down to meet up granted I don't have anything come up. Should be able to drive the 4runner as well. Might do a manual hub swap (done it before and simple since I'm not keeping ABS) but would need to get UCA's or replacement upper ball joints to do the swap since the ball joints on the manual hub spindles are trashed.

That's interesting you mentioned this. I just helped [MENTION=148218]JZiggy[/MENTION] do some press work on some manual hubs he got off a Tacoma. We pressed out the old bearings, pressed in new ones and replaced the seals. The first hub came out with the bearing and had part of the bearing still attached to the hub. We couldn't get a puller or bearing splitter on there very well so we cut that part of the bearing that was stuck on there with a Dremel equipped with a metal blade. The other side was easier because we were successful pressing out the hub clean. We're going to install the knuckles and CV axles sometime this week.

I have the tools necessary to press upper balljoints out and back in.

Gotcha, thought you swapped spindles to have ABS.
