OK, any word on 2012 colors... TE in White coming???

I have searched the threads and seen that there are many others who want a TE in white... any word if we may be fortunate enough in 2012 to see one available?

Also, has anyone tried special ordering one in white?

Unfortunately don't think it's looking good for a white TE. Apparently Canada can't even get one as a SR5.

The dealer order sheet that I look at for the 2012 4Runner indicated no changes for 2012 in Canada. This included colours, so I don't think you will see any changes in the US either.

I ordered a 2011 Classic Silver TE.

I have been told there is no such thing as "special ordering" from the factory with Toyota. All vehicles are delivered from the factories with whatever options and color's offered by Toyota to a distributor. I think there are 4 such distributor's here in the US. The "local" dealers then get allotments of "X" from the dist. Dealers can request certain combinations of color and options, (as long as they are offered by Toyota in the first place) and as in the case of our 4r, an attempt is made to locate the requested vehicle either on the boat, or at the port of call, or at the local distributors inventory or even at another dealer, to get one as close as possible to the customers wishes. If none can be found, the next closest equipped vehicle that comes to the distributor will then be "altered" by the dist, to include certain missing options as much as possible. That vehicle will then be offered to the "ordering" dealer and finally, to the customer.

Bottom line, if it ain't offered by Toyota in the first place, you ain't going to get it from them. Have to do it yourself.
