I think Toyota uses mostly Panasonic (Matsushita) radios. The licensed names like JBL or Mark Levinson usually come into play with an external amplifier and speaker placement.
Here's a link to a big picture of the JBL amp, which says "Harman/Becker USA" on the side. That's the automotive division of Harman Kardon.

Electronics Manufacturing industries
Hey guys, just tossing in my 0.2 cents. I work in the 'Contract Electronics Manufacturing biz' I work for the worlds 2nd largest and the US's largest EM company. (but Im not going to say who that is on a web site). Its highly likely that Harman Kardon, and all the other names mentioned do not actually make their own AMPs, radio's etc. They probably own the design, but electronics manufacturing today is so highly specialized and the auto assembly machines and factory environments cost so much money (often into many millions of dollars per machine) that most brand name companies dont actually 'manufacture' their own product. I can guarantee you (99.99%) that you have electronics in your home, car, office that were made by the company I work for. Although our name is on none of it. Its always branded by the owner who we built it for. And yes we build stuff for Mr Toyota..

That's true. I don't think you can take the phrase "made by" literally at all. I have an idea of who magnumfan is talking about, as I've worked in a couple of companies that "make" consumer electronics and subcontract the circuit board assembly process.
So when I say "made by", I mean the name on the outside of the piece of equipment other than "Toyota".

Case in point
The company I work for NEVER brands any product, for example in 2005 we were the worlds 2nd largest Mobile Phone manufacturer, for what is called 'Feature Phones' - what most people carry, as opposed to 'Smart Phones'. In 2005 I think we built and shipped something like one hundred and thirty million 1,300,000,000 Feature Phones for various brand names. You probably have one in your pocket, or your wife/gf/bf or kids have one.
We are the worlds #1 camera maker, #1 Printer maker, #1 in Auto Electronics, #1 in..... it just goes on and on.
