Opinion of K&N CAI

Couldn't agree more with how disappointed i am with the K&N, Oil seams to work it's way into me MAF nearly every time i clean it, and the 'folds' of the filter, the material is so thin i can nearly see daylight cleanly trough it.

Ironically, i just ordered a 'Airaid 850-054' dry (no oil EVER) filter from Amazon this weekend, hope to keep the pesky P171 CEL away....

A couple of things .....

* Change your oil before driving the truck anywhere else, change it like today or tomorrow, basically before driving it

* K&N will not keep out mud water as was already mentioned. It is not a water filter!

* K&N sells a dust/crud shield for $10-15 that goes over your cone filter as a pre-shield. You should have had that on and did not.

* You obviously went through a lot of mud. Holy cow man!!!!!

* The deckplate mod with the deckplate open (mod engaged) and driving through mud or dust is a freaking terrible idea. You will also get mud and crud directly into your air intake with the deckplate mod.


My opinion of K&N CAI .... great so far. Its been about 8 years and I'm still happy.
