If you can then go toyota owners .com & see if its been babied better than carfax usually pretty good indicator how its been taken care of. That's how mine was guy took it n every 3,000 like clockwork

That's exactly what I paid for my '06 v8 4x4 SR5 with 33k miles last April. So, it sounds like an ok deal to me. Depends on the area. But you should hopefully be able to knock off another $500-$1,000?
Even without any more off, its a decent deal. Especially for a sport.
If you like it, go for it. You won't find many ''better'' deals. Just look it over and view the carfax.

That ToyotaOwners site is pretty cool, I signed up there and ran the VIN. Unfortunately, it didn't turn up much. Apparently the radio was replaced at some point. Routine maintenance must have been done somewhere besides a dealer. I did notice that the vehicle was female owned though.. interesting.
I'm in PA... which reminds me, I should fill out the profile on this site.
Edmunds is saying $23,853 dealer retail, $20,807 trade in.
KBB is saying $27,761 dealer retail, $22,666 trade in.
The Edmunds pricing seems closer to the range I've been seeing while searching vehix and cars.com.
One other thing that occurs to me, what is the consensus of Toyota Certified vs. buying a basic warranty from the dealer? The salesman said something offhanded about the certification costing the dealer $1200. Any truth to that?

I don't know about the certified warranty stuff myself.. But thought it over and if all checks out, you should jump on that thing!
I'm in Pittsburgh area and spent months finding mine. Drove 3.5 hrs to Ohio once and left empty (not perfect).
I found my baby in State College, PA. Drove there trying not to be too excited and was fully prepared to walk away, but as it turned out, it was PERFECT. The 'ole gal spent her earlier years in Williamsport, PA.
FYI - I bought from a non-Toyota dealer that was a pleasure to deal with there - Blaise Alexander Hyundai. They had just transferred it in from one of there other locations. (Just thought id share my story and highlight that you should jump on that one.) Like someone else said, offer $1,500 off, and hopefully settle at $500-1000 off. But like I said earlier, its already a good price that you wont find too often. Get it and post pics!!!
Oh and a woman drove my runner previously as well - FYI.

HAHA Nope! Still talking it over with the little woman. It seems like a decent deal, but I wasn't quite through with looking at some of the other options out there. The 4 Runner in general is definitely my favorite option so far though, hands down.
I have a few more questions for the salesman, and we want to do another test drive. I'll let you all know how things go...
There is no better option- Pathfinders are horrible to look at and not very capable offroad, Jeeps stay in the shop too much and leave you stranded and broke, Honda makes nothing comparable, and GM/Ford SUVs are not worth mentioning. In this class, it's a 4R or a FJ. Just telling you the truth....

Or potentially a Highlander ('08+). Give them a peek as well unless you're set on a BOF (body on frame) ''true'' SUV.

Congrats! Im trying to find my ideal 4th gen now too, a white V8 4wd, its not easy though!
Just curious, how much if any were you able to take the dealer down in price?

Thanks! I was able to get it down to 22,000, but not lower. I still feel like that was a good deal though. I was hard pressed to find a comparable SR5 for the same price.
Good to hear. A neighbor has a Raptor. Cool truck but I can't see the money they ask for those things!
