OPOR Sliders Installed

Installed my OPOR sliders over the weekend. I know there were some requests for pics after I had installed them. I ordered them in bare metal and had used Rustoleum truck bed spray to coat them. I figured this would be an easy way to touch them up after they get beat up on the trails. I hope I don't turn into "Brockeverly" after posting all of these pictures lol.

How sturdy do they feel? Would you have any concerns if these were the between your rig and a hard place?? :boxing:

You'll have to let us know how the rattle can holds up.

They feel solid. I know that welding them on would be the strongest option but I just can't do that. I'm hoping that they work like they should as that's what they're designed for, so yes, I'm putting my confidence in them. I hope they don't prove me wrong. I sprayed 3 coats of the liner on them. It seems good enough. I figured they'd get pretty beat up while wheeling so this would just be the easiest way for me to touch them up. I know that a powdercoat would be stronger but if they're going to have trail damage anyway, I felt for me this is the best route.

Probably a good call. Keep us posted on how they do for you!

cbielat,

Looking good! Can you tell me how far the sliders stick out from the doors? Beside the off road use I'd like to get something that can block a-holes in parking lots from dinging me doors.

:thanks:

^This!

Also, thank you very much for posting such quality pics and for getting so many angles. I also have a mag grey SR5, and have been considering these sliders. Think I might just pull the trigger.

I hadn't measured how far they stick out. I know that Metal Tech's and a few other companies sliders would stick out slightly further. From the front and rear views, the sliders look to stick out a good amount but really, if I had to guess, they only stick out about 4-6"? Depending on how angled another vehicle's door is, it may still hit.

Sliders looks very good, when pictures are coming with skid plates?

Thanks. The skids are due to arrive Tuesday. Not sure if I'll have time to install them during the week but once they are on, I'll be sure to post pictures for you all.

Definitely post some pictures. I'm stock between getting budbuild sliders and the ones you have, i'm also stock between the skids plates. I wish there would be one choose and not so many. But I guess everyone chooses to their needs and likes and that why we have so many nice builds. When you going to make build thread?

Yes, there are a number of good companies out there. There are the purists who swear by only one manufacturer which can be seen in other threads, however, there are other quality manufactures. Also, the manufacturers whom I have dealt with had very acceptable lead times from the time of order and who also build quality products. Just take your time and research. This forum is a great wealth of knowledge. It seems that the core people on here like to help each other out.

I hadn't put together a build thread because I hadn't documented everything I had done. Plus, I feel my build is pretty basic as opposed to some others on this forum. I'll have to look through my photos to see what I have and maybe I'll put one together.

Good luck in your parts search!
