outside temperature gauge...

So the previous owner was nice enough to install an auto-dimming, compass, light and temperature mirror. But the temp always reads about 30-50 degrees hotter than it really is. The wires disappear up into the headliner, and before I start trying to hunt down the sender unit to replace it....where do people usually mount it and what do they generally look like? Not sure where to start looking, thanks for any insight.

I put mine under the stock one that came in my limited On the AC/Condenser. They run about 3 degrees difference. I find the one that is in the GenTex's to be closer most of the time.
