Overland Expo EAST 2015

Class/seminar sign ups are starting to get emailed, just got mine as I signed up early! Impressive list in my mind, a lot of topics I need to learn more about, figure if I take away one thing from each one it'll be worth it for me.

Off topic... But I also am getting a new Cane Creek DB air w/CS on my Ellsworth I keep in NC, when the expo is over I'll be riding for the rest of the week!
 
Any advice for a rookie? Bringing my 12 year old along. Hoping to learn basic off-roading skills and spend quality time with my son.
 
I told the wife to just hold in our daughter who is due the 4th of October so I can go. You can guess her response. See y'all in 2016. Ha.

I've not been to one of these before myself, I think the idea is come have fun, meet like minded folks. The class list is enormous and seems like any topic you want to learn about is covered. My son is only 6, he's going to stay at the grandparents probably for the whole weekend, more for them than him.
 
I'm looking forward to it. Registered in the last week, so haven't received my e-mail allowing me to sign up for classes. Would be great to at least say hello to some fellow forum members. I do more lurking than posting, but get a lot of laughs (and even some occasional knowledge) in return for the hours I spend on here! Thanks for chiming in!

It'll be fun, I expect great weather and Taylor ranch is nice. I grew up just a few miles from there where my parents still live, actually lived in Asheville for 25 years. Early October may not have the leaves changing yet but it's still a great time of year around there. Fall in NC is the what I miss the most living in CO...
 
Bought my tickets and figuring out what classes to attend. Traveling from Chantilly VA. Hope to see everyone.

Edit: For those of you that went last year, was there any good deals to be had on things like tires or suspensions? I'm about to buy both, but I would hate to get there and find that I could have saved a ton of money by waiting. Thanks

Just learned about tbis. Unfortunately, Apple host Wyoming for homecoming, so I can't make this one.

Kneecaps, are there a few people around during greensboro that get together?

If by some random chance there is a suspension giveaway and I win,
I have no need so swing by for a deal! How's that? Keep your eyes open, rarely will 4 months go by without some group deal... And often around thanksgiving there will be deals as well.

There is a few of us in Greensboro that get together from time to time. All of us are in a group called Southeast FJ Cruisers on facebook. request to be added. As the name implies its a FJ group but the 4Runners are slowly taking over as some of them are trading there FJ's in or 4Runners are becoming members. GREAT GROUP OF GUYS!! Cant say that enough. There is always a group going to Uwharrie or somewhere every weekend. I plan on traveling with them to Overland Expo. When we figure out a time and meeting location I'll post it up on here.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Sounds good to me, I love Colorado. Thanks for the advice. I think I will just hold off on tires and lift for a while, because you have a great point about Thanksgiving. [emoji1]
 
Was really looking forward to this but not going to make it. Moving to Boise Idaho October 2nd lol! Hope you guys have a blast!
 
so we were planning a trip east to see family and I was hoping to swing by the expo for a day pass entry to check out vendors.

yesterday wifey says "lets ditch the family and just do the expo" SCORE

plan on being there Thursday with our Ural in tow :reddance:
