Overland Expo EAST 2015

I leave weds from Colorado, I'm so stoked to hit the roads for a bit. I'll be getting in late Thursday night so I'm going to stay at my parents. Will drive over Friday morning, at this point not sure if I'll camp Friday night but definitely sat night.

So much packing to do and I need to hit the liquor store!!!
 
Week out!!!
Todays project is get everything ready and pack for the Expo.
We need to start planning for a convoy. I'm messaging my FJ buddies now.
 
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Expo this weekend. Weather looks chilly with some rain, can't wait to get out there!

Side note: My wife says to me "Are you taking your awning?" To which I ask what she is talking about, she replies that she just assumed I ordered one when we discussed it a couple months ago!!! DRAT, I could have had it already for this trip. Oh well soon enough with the group buy hopefully.

I'll be driving the modded silver Runner with NO ARB AWNING.

they have i think 2 in town from what i saw on the maps.



if anyone plans to meet up in town or want to get food before we go into the event let me know
 
I'll be leaving for the Overland Expo on Wednesday night. Plan on driving through the night (I'm a night shift guy). I'll be camping Thursday night. Just checked the weather, looks like rain and low 60's all weekend.

They don't sell what I'm bringing. Also there is a Food Lion in Fairview, it's a bit down Cane Creek. You can also go the other direction into Fletcher for stores and other stuff. Ingles usually has a good selection of beer, I like some of the Highlands beers myself, I'm a dark beer guy though.

I lived a few miles away from Taylor ranch for about 25 years. Haha
 
Once again hope you all have a great time and hate I'm missing this! If anyone is driving in Friday and sees a sliver trail heading west with Iowa plates be sure to flash your lights and flip me the bird lol. That way I know it's a t4r member haha! On a side note when you guys are cruising the vendors please check out Southeast Overland. Steve(owner) will be out there with some great stuff. They are a small shop out of Seneca SC and installed my EMU kit for me. They do great work and you will be supporting a small business. All of there synthetic winch lines, kinetic recovery ropes, and soft shackles are American or Canada made material that they splice and assemble in house. Again hope you guys have a great time and safe travels!
 
I'm leaving Friday mid-morning, will be there just before lunch. The wife is arriving later Friday in her Subaru.

As mentioned before, look for South-East overland.
Also look for Outbreak Expedition, great guys with amazing prices on things.

SEFJ- South East FJ cruisers will have a big banner where they will be camped. I'll be over there. Everyone try to park near them also.It would be awesome to have a huge Toyota section!

Would love to make the drive, but we're getting to the point in our pregnancy where trips aren't really allowed. My dad to-do list is crazy long at this point. Will definitely try to make it out next time.
 
I just finished packing the truck. The only thing left to do in the morning is load the cooler and hit the road. See you guys before lunch!
