Overthinking and Confusing Lift Options

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to go with my OME 881's combined with tacoma Bilstein 5100's. I know some say not to pair the two, but I haven't heard any first hand experiences saying why. I have read quite a few Taco owners saying they like it, and for $170 + shipping from Wheelers it is worth the try! I will keep everyone posted.
 
Don't know if this helps, but check out the lift link in my signature on how I decided on my lift. I agree there are a TON of choices and finding the right one for you is tough, especially if you're like and were clueless on what I needed.

All in all, I love what I ended up going with:

FRONT: Tundra TRD front coils with Blistein 5100s
REAR: LC 8wrap coils with Blistein 5125s

I found the Tundra coils at a junkyard with the stock shocks for about $120 (still need to sell the shocks to see if I can get any money back), and I got the LC coils for $80.

Can you post some better pics/better angles to show the final product? This setup is kind of what I was thinking about as well, but I'd love a better view of the final stance.

Here is mine. 265/75-16, 3.5" ToyTec Coilovers, 9.25 wrap factory LC coils.

Yeah very low is an overstatement. I just thought with the tundra trd coils it'd be sitting higher. I think I'm just used to seeing people run the trd tundras with the lc coils in the rear. And I like that fact that it rides like a cadillac. Wish mine did. What shocks are you running in the front?

Keep in mind there are 5 spring perch locations on the Billstein 5100 struts, so the same coils can be used for several different lift heights by moving that spring perch on the front, and that is the popular strut to use it seems.

Do you have a pic of the side profile of the entire truck? Are you running the Bilstein HD (yellow), or the Tundra 5100's up front? If the 5100's, what spring perch is that set at?

Here is a side profile picture. I am running the hd yellows for because the setup came from a totalled tundra with only 18k miles on it. The ride is great.

Update for any interested...

I installed the Taco Bilstein 5100's last night with my OME 881's (no top plate spacer), and they ride great. Not too stiff. Not too soft. I realize it's only been 12 hours or so, but I was pleasantly surprised with the ride quality when I tested it out last night. Still not sure what to do with the rear shocks....

IMO if your gunna go with an OME setup get the 890's not the 906's. I only say that cause my 890's have sagged down a fair amount and it sits pretty level. I was originally going to get 906's but I know that if I did, the truck would for sure have a reverse rake now, after settling out. Keep in mind I do have a MTR spare tire and a 60-70lb sleeping platform in the truck at all times. No hitch.
 
Thanks for the tip. If I were to do it again, I would go with the 890's, but since I already have the 906's I just decided to put a 10mm trim packer on both sides. Now it has a tiny bit of forward rake instead of sitting level. My measurements from floor to fender flare are 37" up front (both sides) and 37 3/8" in the rear (both sides). That will work for now, but I just need to figure out a decent shock setup. The OME 60027's were way too stiff and I've heard the 60028's aren't that much better.
 
Update: Been about 45 days, and the front suspension seems to be doing well (OME 881/Bilstein 5100 for Tacoma, no top plate spacer). Still trying to figure out what to do with rear shocks.
 
I'm interested in the shocks that you choose. I'm liking the TRD/906 setup at the lowest perch, and have been scowering online trying to find the longest shock (maximum travel) that can be run with the 906 without limiting up travel by lowering the bump stops, or having the spring fall out at full droop. Ideally, something that would balance well with the front.

I will keep you posted if/when I come across it.
 
Any updates? Think you've got me pretty much set on the 5100's up front, now I just have to wait for them to get off back order!
