Panhard Correction Kits for the 4th gen - fix that panhard bar angle!

Which one is it? just a drop bracket or both a drop and axle bracket...

Just a raise bracket.

With the 3rd gens he had to do both due to clearance restrictions between the raise bracket and the frame. The 4th gens have more room there or maybe the 4th gens don't need to be raised as much.

Either way, geometrically speaking, raising the axle side is better than lowering the frame side.

I agree with everything you just said. :)

If you haven't done it, get it done. Finally got mine put on this weekend. It's almost like having a sway bar again, without actually having one. It's freaking amazing how much better the rig drives with the panhard corrected. Can't wait to see how it feels in dirt next week.

Glad to see It wasn't the placebo effect. My handling went to shit shortly after I did the pck. I miss not having to fight my steering wheel like my life depends on it.

If you're fighting your steering wheel I'd get your alignment checked. I took mine out in dirt for the first time a couple weeks ago after doing the pck and while it took some adjustment to my driving since the sway was gone it quickly became second nature again. It really tightened things up for me. So much so I'm throwing it on the next axle I'm swapping in as well.

I have so many reasons why my steering is shit... FedEx only moves so fast though. New hubs/bearings finally showed up today.

I apparently ordered the wrong wheels, unfortunately the website said nothing about not fitting a Toyota. Pro comp steelies will murder Toyota calipers without a 1/4" spacer. My current spacer is Chinesium and rattles the hell out of my truck when I brake from 5mph.

Alignment is an issue, but so are warped, squeaking, seized brakes and Chinesium lug centric spacers.

I'll probably get it aligned soon, but I don't expect these spc UCA's to do anything helpful in that regard.

Yeah that'll do it.

Can of worms: opened. I'm sure 35s will be worth it though. I'm still shocked at how much can be done with 31.5" tires though, built Jeeps on 35s had trouble with obstacles I just pointed my wheels at.

I know these PCKs work on the GX470 = 4th Gen, but I'm only lifted like 1.5" in the rear using the air bag trick. Is there a minimum lift required before you really need the PCK? Just wondering...I'm usually on IH8MUD and someone referred me to this thread on the PCKs.

There's basically 3 settings. Stock, 1-1.5, and 2.5-3" roughly.

I'm surprised that rigs that are stock or up to 1.5" lift in the rear are having issues with the panhard. So, it's interesting that PCK supports those lower settings.

What specifically am I supposed to be fixing in the 1.5" rear lift? I don't have or feel any issues with steering.

Maybe my setup would help understand my non-issues:

Front:
TotalChaos UCA
New Toyota LCAs
Bilstein 6112s

Rear:
Air bags raised about 1.25" to 1.5" depending on what the original stock height was in the rear
OME 60004 shocks

Tires and wheels:
17x9 wheels with -12 offest
285/70R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers E

Again, I'm just trying to understand if I need the PCK or not.

Take a photo of your panhard bar angle and let's have a look at it. :)

It's not that they necessarily have an issue stock, it's that the pck retains the stock mounting position which is why I added it into my post. Are you still running a rear sway bar? If you are then you likely don't notice the handling issues that come with your panhard being at the incorrect angle due to the lift.

3” lift, is this maybe why my truck tracks slightly left even after several alignments?

If your panhard is not level you will benefit from the correction kit.

The more angled it is the more benefit you get.

Yeah, I'm still running the sway bars in front and rear, so this might explain why I don't notice any issues with steering. Here's a picture of my rear panhard.

Recently got my lift installed and am sitting at about 4" of lift in the rear empty. Rear bumper will be going on shortly and being loaded up for camping I imagine it'll settle 1" or so.

I haven't noticed any steering or control issues but perhaps just don't know that there are any. My question is if I still have my rear sway bar on (front is off) will I still benefit from this?

Here's a pic of my panhard bard. There is definitely an angle and I'm sure the kit will level it out nicely, just wondering if having the rear sway bar on makes it pointless.

Thanks
