I hit a coyote and bounced a fairly large Doe off my bumper in SE oregon. I've slammed it down on the rocks in Moab due to some shitty driving, and the bumper is doing fine.



Even pelfrey will tell you if you intend to rock crawl, go steel. If you want a good bumper for overlanding, go aluminum.



I wanted steel so badly, and then realized aluminum was the better choice for my needs.



Aluminum will work well, you just have to understand the right fit for your needs. I can argue both ways.

Thanks [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] - been following your build post with keen interest. Overlanding for sure. Put on King's 2.5 extended coil overs and RCI aluminum skid package. Shrockwork's rock sliders. I think the aluminum pelfreybilt just might be the right choice.

While it's great to have options, there's just so many bumpers to choose from and I can't complain. Just gotta do your research beyond what looks good.



For me the key points were aluminum, NO cutting of the OEM bumper, winch support. Pelfrey pretty much designed theirs satisfying both function and form as best as they could. Especially supporting a 10k winch without any solednoid relocation kits or cutting/moving OEM stuff.



I also like how Pelfrey protects the hardlines (coolant or ac) where other manufactures leave them exposed

Super points [MENTION=153545]LOLSNOW[/MENTION] - the blend of form and function of the pelfreybilt seems to tipping the scales in their direction for me. Price points are sure high by the time you add a winch and fill the holes w lights.
