Edit - Just showed my kid this video as she was sort of pissed at me for getting her out of the truck before attempting it the first time. She loves Dada again.

I didn't know there were so many YouTube videos of Rausch Creek. The first hill here is where I banged up both of my rear shocks.

Ya there are tons of vids from Rausch. I was looking for something totally unrelated when I found that flop vid but immediately recognized the spot. I don't remember that hill though was that the same day that we went? We should go again I think I'll put up a feeler post.
fftopic:I like those "shin" guards I gotta order a set also. Also while on the subject of armor, would you buy Buds bump-outs again or would you go for the straight. I've only seen them on your truck and to me they seemed to stick out pretty far but again this was with your TE wheels and 265's. Do you have any pics with your new wheel/tire set-up preferably looking down the side? I'm thinking I'll go the Okki route with the TE rockers, front over moldings and rear door over moldings.
Back on topic, That vid just shows that it's well worth getting out and looking things over and if there's even a little bit of doubt pick another route. I'm pretty sure that choice saved you from flopping that day :boink:

Bump outs are great. Mine pushed me away from a tree stump or two up in Colorado. Plus, they are awesome for denting unsuspecting soccer moms doors when they fling them open not caring if they dent vehicles around them.

From where we were standing on top of the hill I could not see that part as it curved sharply to the right and down. After JD and Joe went down in their Heeps I just figured it was good to go. It was JD who suggested I may want to take a peek since his meter showed something like a 25 degree angle which would have needed to be steeper in our wider trucks.
The guy in the video was obviously going too fast and went too far up the bank. That spot I think is still doable with our wider trucks - the trouble is that you can't ride those big rocks down on sliders because of the gap.
Speaking of sliders I tossed up some quick pixs (bixs) for you in my build thread. Let me know if you need more and I'll email them to you. But yeah, no question I would get the same ones again.
As for that hill - at the end of the day when you guys headed back to the parking lot JD and I did a quick detour as I wanted to try it again. Last time up was with the stock Limited and I wanted to see how it would do without the running boards and girly skirts.
