There's not really a lot of information to go on here.

1. Do you have the standard radio or the NAV system?
2. What type of phone are you using?

On my system (WITH NAV), I also can't get pauses to work. My workaround was to setup a speed dial on my iPhone with the correct dial string, and then it worked. I can't, for the life of me, get the pauses to work when programming numbers into my nav contacts.

I have NAV and my phone is Blackberry Storm. Looks like I'm not the only one observes this issue. I'll try your suggestion; thank you

Well from what I tried, I know of two options. Don't have the nav, but there probably isn't a difference with the Bluetooth modules.

1) Set up the voice mail number in the speed dial, call it, while you're on the call and it asks for a password, use the talk switch and say it, then it asks you if you want to send it, sent it with the off hook switch. Doing so grants entry into your voice mail.

2) Set up two speed dials, one containing your voice mail, one containing your password. While connected with your voice mail, speed dial the password number. works the same way.

3 (a guess?)) Set up the number in your phone so that it works with the pauses or waits and successfully grants access to your mailbox, and try sending that string to your nav unit.

Tried some options unsuccessfully.
1) using the Talk function require you do be very speedy, otherwise it exits the dial mode; too fast for me
2) Could not figure how to get back to speed dials when you are in the middle of the 1st call
3) Did not try this, since I did not want to re-sync all the contacts again. Is there a way to sync one contact only?

I do option 3 with my blackberry and it works fine. Made easier by the fact that I need only hold down the 1 key to dial VM.

I use it fine by pressing the 1 phone, not the car system; did you try to transfer it to the NAV and test it from the car system?
