Thanks for all the nice comments, guys!! Yeah I'm really enjoying it and the 5.7 is a dream!!
I got to drive it to the mountains for the first time yesterday and man can it climb those hills!!
As for what I paid, I got about a $3k discount off MSRP. The incentives are getting a little bigger, but I'm happy with what I paid.

We the inventory is starting to get bigger at the dealers. I'm sure like anything else if you were there right at the beginning trying to buy one off the lot when they only had 1 or 2 , maybe it would have been different.
I did get to sit in a max cab tundra , small box which is ok for me , but the interior room is unreal.
So when are we going to see a little lift , and some all terrains , maybe rims ??? ....lol Just kidding looks mighty sweet the way it is.
In your opinion , how do you think this truck will go over against the big 3 ?
Yeah, they are starting to get alot in stock so the incentives are getting higher, which in my mind is a bad idea. Big incentives KILL resale value, which is what Toyota is all about. The reason, I think (and this is all over the TundraSolutions board) for the rebates and incentives is because they are falling short of their sales goals. But April is the first full month that they will be able to sell the CrewMax (the huge rear cab). So I think the numbers are a bit skewed, and will get better.Falls said:
I think it stacks up quite nicely with the Big 3. The powertrain is absolutely flawless. Nobody can touch it, and they won't until maybe GM offers the 6-speed in their half tons with a more powerful engine, so from that standpoint they've hit the nail right on the head. It's definitely a wake-up call, if nothing else. As far as other aspects of the truck, there are a few things they missed that are annoying. No power rear slider on the DC's, no memory seats in the Limited, no Auto 4WD option. These are all options available on the competition.
Being real, I don't see the Tundra passing Ford or Chevy in pickup sales for a long time, if ever. There is too much pride to let Toyota pass them in their best selling segments. They will keep the truck current and well built enough to swing the loyalists in their favor for years to come, the only question is can they do it for a profit?
I do plan a small lift in the future, as well as wheel spacers and A/T tires. Probably not until the fall though. I am really excited about the TRD S/C they are developing for this motor and, as I was with the 4Runner, be oriented toward performance first. I'm looking for 500+ HP.

What is happening is all these shit mags are helping the domestic trunk industry by crowning the GM without waiting for the Tundra. In addition, now that they have all picked the GM they now have to shit on the Tundra. There is also fudging going on. Stuff like the GM getting better gas mileage (which is a BIG deciding factor in buying a truck these days). It will take some time for the Tundra to get through this. In a way, it may be a good thing for the smart consumer. The base price has already been lowered and there will be good incentives.
