Play videos on JBL stereo?

Before anyone flames me for not searching this, I have. I can't find any good answers after tons of searching. Why is there an A/V source button? I tried hard-wiring my iPhone as well as putting in a DVD. And yes the parking brake was on. It is a JBL issue not Entunes.

I've been trying to figure this out too. I made a thread about it yesterday night. I wish the manual had more information. The only matter it makes clear is that a cable needs to be plugged into the AUX port but other than that I am at a blank. I have an Android smartphone and I couldn't play any video when connecting it to the USB AUX port. I haven't tried a DVD since I didn't think the head unit could recognize DVDs. I also had the vehicle in park with the emergency brake engaged. I can get a blank video screen to show but that is it.

As far as I know, there is no video playing ability in the JBL head unit. You could wire in a composite video through the backup camera feed, but it will have the warning message on the screen. It has enough trouble dealing with higher bit rate MP3s, no way is it going to play video through USB mass storage.

Thanks Jeremy. That's what I was afraid of. But why the heck to they have a source option for A/V? Maybe my service guy will know next time I take it in.

That is what I thought. I saw the AV option under the audio menu and the manual stated to use it that you must plug into the AUX port but that was it. It was very ambiguous.
