Please help before I introduce my 4Runner to my 12ga.

Over the past few weeks my runner is testing my patience. This new noise has me close to the edge. I left work yesterday. It was raining pretty good and with the wipers on, Defroster, and radio I thought I heard a thump, thump, thump. So I stut everything off and sure enough.... rock in the front passenger tire. Pulled over and looked......and looked, and looked some more. No rock. Got back in and drove a few more miles. I can not get the noise to repeat itself, it just kind of comes and goes. turning doesnt affect it, braking doesnt affect it. throttle doesnt affect it. But it is a rotational "thud" like a rock in the tire. Got home and looked over everything. I figured maybe a band clamp on my CV boot was broken, something caught in the driveshaft, loose molding, nothing. only thing i found was my front wheelwell liner was torn. Ripped it off and i still have the noise. So this morning I drive to work and the noise seemed to get louder on the way to work. Then tonight the noise is even louder and it seems to be coming from "under" the console. I can not see anything but everything see,s to be working fine I just have this thumping. Any Ideas?

Did you try grease the drive shafts? It could be from the drive shafts not having enough grease and/or the u-joints going bad? But I would go for greasing first.

Yup. greased them 2 weeks ago when I developed a LOUD screeching noise. The pin the holds the rear brake shoes rusted in half and one of the cups the hold the spring got lodged in between the shoe and drum. Sounded like a bad u-joint at first.

Sounds like someone at work is playing a joke on you. Look for a large zip tie on your drive line.

Someone put a zip tie on my driveshaft when I had a jeep and that was the most annoying shit ever trying to figure out what was wrong

This is a stretch, and it probably wouldn't make a continuous thud... But did you check the spare tire? Maybe its not sitting properly underneath??

Edit: Missed the under the console part... Loose skid plate underneath?

Well the noise has died down a bit. I dont hear it as much, maybe Im getting used to it.....or all the other noises are drowning it out. anyway. It IS coming from under the console. And it almost sounds like my old Monte Carlo SS when the speedo cable went bad. But my speedometer does not bounce like the Montes did. Im sure this is computer controlled so thats not it but the sound is the same.
