Poll: Change in the Forum (PLEASE VOTE)

Well I'm a bit worried it will dilute this great forum. This forum is so specific to one vehicle and that is part of what makes it a wealth of information without a lot of other stuff. It is not a 4 wheel drive forum, it's not a toyota forum and it's not even a toyota truck forum.....It is THE toyota 4Runner forum.
Heck, there was just a thread about how great this forum and it's members are and again I would hate to dilute it with a totally different vehicle and crowd.

April 1st or not, let the owners/mods do what they have to. It is nice enough of Thai to even put it to a vote. This is a great forum. I have reservations about the ability of the software to differentiate (ie. searching like Trance said) but lets see what can be done.
I wouldn't have an issue of even going bigger to a generic 4x2/4x4/4wd/SUV/custom site (not sure which category fits) that has sub-forums for many brands/vehicles. As long as you can keep the specifics seperated we can all learn from each other.
On the flip side of this you would have to watch out for a watering down in the quality of the site (barbs, flaming, trolls) and the potential loss of interest this would cause.

I was not aware that you and GG had been thinking about it, but since you and I have talked so much about the G-Wagon and I have test driven it a couple of times, it would make it easy to find an online home. That is if my wife and I decide to go over to the dark side. What would really be cool is if we do get the G-Wagon and keep the T4R. We would be a living version of the web site.

When you do a search you can set it to search a specific sub forum, so searching shouldn't be too much of an issue.
I think whats going to be an annoyance, is when you hit New Posts. It will come up with ALL new posts and it doesn't differentiate which sub forum its from. Like I said, an annoyance but I can learn to live with it.
If the G-wagon peeps need a home, I'd welcome them here...

Hmmm...I guess Thai was right - I told him I thought it was a bad idea but based on the results of the poll (33 for it v. only 21 against it thus far) I guess I'll just go with what the majority wants. Please be patient as we undertake this transition.

I think that with something this big you should have to get a 2/3 majority vote like in Congress! It should not be a majority rules thing because if you look at the NAYS they are in good number too. You are going to have too much of a split from those that think it is okay and those that don't . Did I just sound like a Democrat? Ooops! Sorry!

I don't know if this is all an April fool's day thing or not, but I will say that after 5 years with a ML 430, I've had enough of MB products to last me a lifetime - never again!!! If all this is a valid thing, and you guys want to listen to the bleatings of unhappy MB owners, then the worst it will do is make us all feel good about our 4Runners.
