Didn't want to make the drive out there. Too many other cars to compete with.
Beautiful day in the snow! deepest part of the day was Tilamook State forest, 1.5 - 2ft of snow (where i was on the backroads),ODOT hadn't plowed hwy 26 yet even!
this is HWY 26

so after getting stopped by the burm of snow created by the plows, i aired down to 22 LBS a little off to the side of the logging road in case someone happened by, this increased my traction by 100% it felt like!:

nothing too crazy since i was by myself, only went ~2 miles then turned around here:

Good time! there was 2 4th gen 4runner at the library next to each other, so i thought there was a good turn out! but they where just walking there dogs and romping in the parking lot, couple of Jeeps on ~38" tires also, where having a meetup, but they looked allot more serious than i was feeling today.... time to make a snow man!
How much pressure you usually run around with? I have been running around with 12psi, usually I pump them up to 35psi for normal road driving.
Honestly this is the first time I've air'd down (in a car, do it on the motorbike allot), i run 35 usually all the time on the tarmac. I really noticed a difference with the drop in pressure, instead of cutting through the snow, i was "floating" on it allot better!
12PSI!! wow, i don't have beadlocks on, stock 16" wheels.
Airing down is awesome. It gives you so much better traction and way more tread contact with the ground. I don't have beadlocks either. I just have some 15x10" steelies. Never have popped a bead, even running at 9psi all day wheeling, usually I keep it around 10-12psi for normal wheeling. Honestly my tires don't even have a huge bulge being at 12psi.
:wow:
Well, maybe if i have some company to calm my nerves, i could go lower... @ ~ 22LBS there was a big bulge at the contact point, so i didn't want to chance it. This time.

Man you're not having much if any bulge on those! are the E rated? i'm running 265/75 R16 C, Duratrac's, i have a compressor also (cheap little yellow one from Fred Meyer if i remember correctly). They where not bulging badly, just enough for me to notice....
