I was talking with the service manager at the dealership today. In our discussion I asked if they will be changing the 4Runner computer to remind oil changes at every 10k instead of 5k. He wasn't sure, but said Toyota will be adding some features possibly to next years model. They will possibly be oil change reminders based on the computer measuring the viscosity of the oil. So instead of a oil changes at fixed intervals, the computer will determine the appropriate time. He also mentioned instead of just having a generic tire warning, there will be more specific information as to which tire.
Someone mentioned in one of the threads it would be nice to know the pressure for each tire similar to what GM is already doing. Looks like Toyota is listening
