I just replaced my 1985 Coleman popup with a 2003 Thor Wanderer (Hybrid TT) that I got a great deal on the other day. Got my brake controller, plates, larger hitch ball, etc installed yesterday so today I start to figure out what's what on it since it's all new to me. Two flip down beds, kitchen, bathroom, sitting area, furnace, A/C, etc.

Tows behind my Runner w/o any difficullty at all. I'm thinking an axle flip is in order for some extra clearance of the low-hanging plumbing. Larger tires would also then be possible.

I'll do that fun_runner, I like the merging of a popup and TT myself. Still feels like a popup but has the amenities of a full trailer at a fraction of the price. I spent time running through and testing and everything works which is nice to see. I have the axle flip kit in hand then I'll put on new tires and wheels and be ready to give it a real test.

I planned to go bigger but these tires are like new and I can't justify the cost. I'd rather spend the money on gas!

After a small restoration and a custom 11" lift...

I sold it to build something a little more off-road friendly, this has been my project for the last couple years...

I figured I'd followup on our first trip with the trailer. We stayed at the Moab KOA since I wasn't sure what worked and what didn't. I de-winterized before leaving and didn't know if I had leaks or hot water.

After it got down to 26° I spent the time to get the hot water heating working along with everything else. It got a bit cold but setting the furnace at 50 took the edge off. So far, so good!

Now I don't want to go making anybody jealous, but I figured I'd go ahead and show off my incredible camper and risk the green monster of envy. Deluxe accomodations, with generous living space, spacious master bed, and even a fully-equipped kitchen! I know it's amazing, but I can actually fit this beast in any campground spot with minimal effort. I would've included the cot, Cabela's lounger, lantern, Gerber axe, etc., but I don't want to show off.

p.s. in case anyone gets the wrong idea, this is all in fun--I'm not slamming camping in an RV by any means--ANY camping is GOOD camping!

There's certain trips I still use a tent on since taking the popup isn't an option. But I do enjoy camping a bit more in a trailer less setup and work I find...which means more time for fun activities :cheers::fish2:
