The toyo's are great. I wanted a smooth riding A/T. I've had BFG AT's in the past, and although great tires, they can be a little rough around the edges (don't always balance great, a little noisy as they wear down, etc.)

I did quite a bit of research and narrowed it down to the Nitto Terra Grappler or the Toyo Open Country ATs. Toyo owns Nitto, and as I looked closer I could see the similarities between the two tires. Ultimately, I liked the smooth sidewall design on the Toyo's better than the TG lightning bolts. LOL

For 3 weeks I narrowed down to Terra G, Open Country and Copper ATPs
From this forrum and tire shop feedbacks, the Coppers were the best choice for me. Road noise, balancing, tread life, track pattern. I've put on about 5K miles so far and no problems.

They closely resemble each other in characteristcs. Main difference is vendor. Discount tire nationwide model (ATP).

I've always wondered why a fj 6" lift couldn't work? There might be some slight mods, but i think it would be close. Ill wait for harper to do a SAS swap, he seems to be leading in the mod charge.

So, he's the first guy to do a 6" lift but no details? No suspension pics? Could this be a Photoshop gag? Show us the goods Romeo!

Sorry to say but this runner is only a prerunner no axles! Yes a fj kit is compatible with a runner suspension! thats wat i used to install a 6" lift! the only differences is the lower control arms and camber bolts,they are bigger than fjs! the lift i used is a fabtech kit from an 07 fj cruiser! 6" front and rear rolling on 35/12.5 nitto mud grapplers, on 20" rims.! fine isnt she! i would of got a 4wheel drive but u would know how that would go!

I've wondered this as well. How do the FJ guys run a 6" lift with out CV axle angle in too much of a bind? What allows the FJ to be able to do it, but not the 4runner? Just curious.

There's a drop bracket that is welded on to the frame to keep stock CV angles.

Welded to the frame in the install or there initially? Would you not be able to then weld the drop bracket to the frame and make it work?

The stock diff bracket is ground off, then the new lift one is added. Basically it moves the whole front suspension down.

Thanks for the link. That cleared some stuff up. I hadn't planned on trying to go 6" but I was just curious
