if i drove corners like a nascar driver, yes the tires would roll over. i will absolutely not take a corner fast. in another thread where i told about gas mileage i use the pretend coke in the back method. i dont take turns fast, i dont accelerate fast, never have never will. i have these tires and wheels on both my tacoma and my 4R. i run 24psi Front and 22psi Rear on the truck, and have been doing so about 40,000 miles with perfect wear, perfect tracking, and a perfectly flat tread pattern. i have about 10k on the 4R with this setup. although its not perfect practice, as my tire guy at the local dealership says i need 40psi in them, i just dont agree. sorry. yes i know a lower tire pressure hurts fuel mileage, and creates sidewall heat, but it has not been deemed unsafe for this tire as of yet. i average 18+mpg so no complaints here.
before i bought these tires to fit the limited wheels on my truck over a year ago, i went thru all the threads all the way back to 2010 on this forum that had anything to do with these tires and these wheels. there are about 10 people running this setup, and about 500 people that dont agree with it. i know this wheel is too narrow, read every post about it, read every tire persons complaint about how to measure rim width, how wide the wheel needed to be to fit this tire ect. i know its not the perfect match up but i can assure you it works.
going outside now to take pix of tires. front and rear are perfectly flat across the tread, the sides are not rolled over the edges, i dont take turns fast enough just to try and protect the tread pattern and not make it have a roll.
i know when you take corners fast like this pix, the tire on the outisdeof the corner has a certain amount of roll.
thats why i dont drive a lifted vehicle like i am in a nascar race. and my tread pattern stays flat.
making a 11.3" wide tire fit nicely on a 7" wide rim is not exactly "good" tire practice, i know alot of people dont agree with this particular setup. with 35psi, the tire is only touching the ground on about 6" of the treads pattern. the tire is bulged up in the middle like a balloon. my plans are to widen the wheel an inch. this is a long term plan, i will probably do it when the tires wear out, but i do definitely plan on widening the wheels on both vehicles an inch. this should make the tires much flatter across the tread
