What happened to your roof rack?

Ironically I cleaned it only to head right back out to the Toyota Lone Star jamboree tomorrow. I stripped her down this AM because I needed a good, solid detail. And if I was going to pay good money to get er professionally done, my cheap ass was not going to let them tell me that they would have cleaned the roof ...but the rack was in the way. Well BOOM now you get to wash, wax and claybar the whole top with nothing in your way to stop you!

Besides after it being up there for more than a year, the roof was looking pretty dingy. So I am presently putting the rack back on in the dark ....with just me and my winch.

Oh missed the TRD Pro part. I don't believe it works on the Limited...mine is an UnLimited

What springs did you go with? How's the ride?

I have the medium duty springs. I wanted to keep the ride close to stock as much as I could. Sadly this wasn't the case. It definitely rides more like a sports car than a cadillac. If I could do it over again I would go with something softer. I don't plan on adding any bumpers, skids, sliders etc.

Do you have any rubbing on the fender lining or on the bumpers lower corner at full lock?

Yeah at full lock when I'm backing up I do have some rubbing on both of the front lower bumpers and lining. I've seen on here where others have trimmed some of the bumper and moved the lining forward. Judging by how much I'm rubbing this should be an easy fix.

nothing crazy but... bilstein 6112s (on the 2nd groove) on the front, 5160s on the rear with the stock springs. I like the slight rake, and need it due to heavy camping gear that gets lugged around.

if anyone was wondering, i really REALLY like this setup. way better than the stock IMO. much smoother, soaks up bumps like a champ. plus i had close to 60k on the ODO so it was time for an upgrade anyway right??? :dance:

Hello all,

Long time lurker here finally posting. This is my 3rd 4runner, '84....'03...now '14. Thanks to all members who posted on the Toytec lift, and CBI bumper install....I could not have done it without those posts. Here she is....

Toytec Boss lift with HD rear coil, CBI Bumper, 20% Tint, FrontRunner rack, 275/70 BFG All-Terrain KO2.

I use Mister Car Wash on 1960 near Willowbrook Mall. I do recommend them. I have their Unlimited Plan which allows me to get it detailed everyday if I choose to. Also this specific location is about 20 yards away from Serious Cigars. So I love to go in there, have a Cigar and do a little work on my Surface while I wait.

Unfortunately they told me I need new UCA's to get to factory spec alignment. They got close enough to get me by, but I guess I gotta go shopping now for more stuff to blow money on lol.

What setting are you on? Doesn't seem right? I'm on 1.75 setting and my caster numbers are around 2.6-3. Maybe they were trying to sell you some to make an extra buck?

I'm all the way up at the top setting, so 2.5 I think? I didn't get the feel that they were trying to sell me anything. They made it sound like it was pretty much fine to drive as is, but on the highway at speed it might be looser than it was before. I haven't had a chance to test it out past 60 mph yet though.

I'm at 2.5" and @ 2.6 caster. 99% of the time, they should be able to get it in spec. Find a more experience alignment guy.
