Do we actually need these coupons?
I never received any but was told it came with 2-years free Maintenece (Purchased in August 2010).

Waxed the truck this weekend, headlights are now clean again as the haze stain was on the outside and the wax removed it.

You waxed your headlights? I thought most waxes said "keep off plastic parts"?
Colored plastic because it will turn it white. Good for clear headlights.

The spots returned. They are on both headlights.
Something in the plastic is off-gassing and causing the film to materialize. My guess is that Toyota will have to change the material with which they are making the light assembly.

temporary fix
Just had my car wash guy buff out some major scratches going from front to rear bumper. He did a great job. To my surprise he noticed the tops of the headlight covers were dull and buffed them to like new condition!
That said, the headlight plastic is poor quality and the defect we are experiencing (at least for me) is on the exterior of the housing, not the interior, and can be buffed out. Mine was pretty bad. I'm sure it will return over time but at least we have a solution to remove it before it engulfs the entire housing. I hope you all are as lucky as I and can buff the dull away.

Just checked and haven't noticed anything except road grime. I'll keep an eye out. 2010 TE, 3 mos old 3,500 mile washed twice.

that's exactly what my car wash guy buffed out!
Quick Update: Finally had a chance to go back into the dealer, the service manager looked at the headlights and confirmed that they were abnormal. He approved the replacement and they have ordered parts numbered 81130-35530 and 81170-35530. I also mentioned to him how other people on here have had the same issue in which he said that it doesn't have to be approved by the regional supervisor and that a dealer can put it through - only reason some dealers want a toyota rep to approve it is incase the defective part isn't cleared once it gets sent in, they don't get reimbursed and take the loss.
on a side note, thanks to Harper7 i just asked about the tsb numbers you posted earlier this week and one of them applied to my truck, i would have never known had you not posted it so thanks for the help.

I was meaning to find this thread again. From quick glances and looks I'm sure I got this same problem but its on the outside. I have to check again when the sun is out.
The reason for this might be as someone else who stated that they used touchless car washes. I haven't properly given it the attention it should in this department, so that might be why.
Maybe I can get TE lights???

hm, haven't noticed it. I'll take a good look tonight. if someone could post a pic of this that would be helpful.

Since reading this thread when it first came up, I did not notice this hazing inside the headlight. 2 days ago ... think it was the morning, I noticed it inside the headlight, exactly the same place as the pictures posted by BLKMAGIC5. The hazing was oval shaped about 1-2 inches in length. It disappear during the day.
I will get pics next time I see it.

My trail has it too, on the inside...noticed it a month back after seeing this post.
I just noticed tonite that the foglamps are developing a haze too...anyone else use the fogs and seeing this?
The fogs are glass, not plastic like the headlamps, and the haze is on the inside - any theories?

OMG, I have it too, and its very noticeable. Anyone who has had theirs replaced, does the replacement fix the problem?
