Power Running Board Install

I know the power boards are mentioned in a number of threads, but I have not come across anyone detailing how or if anyone has even been successful in getting the OEM parts and completing the install themselves.

Like many others have found, no one seems to have them on the lots in Cincinnati (or surrounding three states) and I really don't want to wait 12-14 weeks to custom order my new 4-Runner.

Has anyone done this install? Parts list?

Last time I checked (3 months ago), they were not available to dealer parts dept yet. Cost to a wholesale shop was over 3k. Each part was sold separately. Each board was about $700, motors were another $400 something, wiring harness was $500+, even the switch was separate. You're better off using one from Amp Research for a 2010+ Tacoma and making it fit.

I checked on measurement and it will be very close. There are some details to work out but it would be too extensive to write/explain it all.

Yikes, Pricey to do after the fact (like most things) they are slick though.
I HATE running boards but need them for wife etc.
The "Peek-a-Boo's" are the ticket.

Get sliders instead. They will give you a step and protect your rocker panels. Low cars will open their doors into them too.

It took a lot of searching and some patience with my dealer, but they came through with a 2012 with Power Boards. Well worth the wait in my opinion...VERY cool option.

I sent an email to AMP asking them if there were any plans for the gen 5 but haven't heard back yet. I am sure they will come out with them... and usually go for about $1k
