Power steering pulley

I just replaced the water pump and timing belt last week. I now have a chirping PS belt. All of the searches I have done lead me to believe that the chirping belt is usually caused by an alignment problem. When I spray water on the PS belt, the chirp goes away for a minute or so and then returns. After examining the pulley on the PS pump, I can move the pulley in and out maybe about 1-2 MM. I am wondering if the nut on the pulley can be tightened or if the shaft itself might have a snap ring that holds it in place inside the housing?

Does it chirp all the time, just at start up or when turning? Did you try tightening it? I would think spraying water on a chirping belt would make it squeal like a pig!

Chirping is solved by a proper belt tension and a good belt.
