That's why I have been so on the fence about doin it but smelling the oil I can smell it's a little burnt. So Im looking at it like well damage is done maybe I can a few thousands more miles out of it. Really really sucks. But! If you hear anything or see any good deals on a transmission please lemme know!

make sure you out in a tranny cooler next time, heat kills tranny 99% of the time. 4runner transmission

I was JUST looking at that one haha and yeah.... It wasn't mine until 50k ago before that I knew nothing about 4runners until then. A cooler is in the future for it. I think I'm going to to go pick n pull and search the Volvo 240's for a clean one
You hear about the new pic n pull in corte medera I think it was? Guess they have lots of newer vehicles

500 is cheap man pick and pull would charge you at least 800-1g just the tranny no transfer

yeah you cant never tell from CL but you can always take it apart and check the thinkness of the gear plates.

That involves a teardown... But 400( with you buying the t-case) would be worth it!

If I can get my rig up and running tomorrow......it left me stranded due to starter going out...FAWK! Got the parts today and putting them in tomorrow. WOO HOO love when random stuff happens! Owell, could have been worse is how I see it!:bash:
