Price check on isle four!!!

Made an appointment to get some Xpel paint protection film installed on my truck today. I was quoted a price of $650.00 for the hood, front fenders, front bumper, mirrors and door edges. Doesn't seem too bad but I was wondering if any one else has had it done and what they paid.

Install is scheduled for next Wednesday. I'll post pics and my feedback so if any one is considering getting it done they can see how it looks first hand.

I have the Toyota touch up paint too but the idea here is to prevent the nicks and stone chips before they happen.

If you're doing that level of paint protection film, I'd recommend doing the rear doors as well, right where the body line flares out before the fender flares - mine are pretty chipped up already.

Personally, I'm fine with the wear and tear. Just makes it easy to chop up the truck to build a full on trail rig in a few years.

Xtreme, not the Ultimate. Ultimate is the one that's supposed to be self healing I believe.

I have running boards and they do a pretty good job of protecting the side of the truck from rocks and stuff.

First thing I did was front film. I live in a rural area. Rock chips will eat the front of the hood in a few years. Well worth it IMO.

I assume all 4runners have it, but mine has factory film along the lower door panels already. So if that's where they mean by door edges I'd skip that.

sorry but pretty paint on the hood isn't going to have much affect on resale value of a 10+ year old vehicle unless it has potential to be a collectors item. Again it is a 4runner not a Lambo or 65 mustang.

I routinely drive past a quarry and garbage dump. That road is always littered with sand, dust, rocks, and other debris. The dump and garbage trucks all throw it up into the cars behind them. It's worth the $900 I paid to have the whole front end covered, and I would have paid more if that's what it took.

Does it add to resale, not really. But it goes to overall appearance and condition of the vehicle. Of course there's the peace of mind knowing that rock you just heard thrown up didn't really hurt anything. That alone is enough value for me.

Exactly! I drive on the interstate a lot and the trucks are always kicking rocks and stuff up at your vehicle. I keep my vehicles in excellent condition so the added protection is worth the investment to me.
