Proud New Owner of my First Toyota- 2010 T4R SR5

Hey everyone,

My wife and I just picked up our new Blizzard Pearl 2010 T4R SR5. I convinced her that it was her Christmas present, but in reality I will be driving it as much as she will. "My" car is a 2010 Camaro SS, so the 4Runner will be a nice change of pace. We opted for the premium package with black leather and a sunroof. We only have about 50 miles on it so far, but we are loving it. It has been storming since we left the dealership, so I'll post some pics when/if it stops raining.

5thGen, can you post larger pics of your interior? I want to compare your black leather to mine. Is it the same as the black leather in the Limited? Mine has perforated leathe on the side bolsters.

Here ya go. I'm not sure if it is the same as the Limited, but I am assuming it is. As you can see, the side bolsters are perforated.

Congratulations, you are one of the lucky few!

I have driven Toyotas and Lexuses all my life. My dad had a Pckup and a Corolla in the seventies. I had a Corolla in college and then '92 bad-ass pick-up that took me everywhere and never let me down (except for one radiator problen) for 16 years and over 200,000 miles. I loved that truck. I have also owned/driven Land Cruisers, LXs, FJs and RXs. (There was a Porsche 911 in there, too.)

I recently totalled my 2007 Lexus RX (with all the options: auto wipers, memory seats, dvd screen in the back seat, ultra premium music, etc) and was shopping for a Tacoma when I started reading about the 2010 4Runners -- especially the Trail Edition. I decided that the Trail Edition was a lot more car than the pickup, plus I like new technology -- plus the insurance money for the RX covered it almost perfectly. So three weeks ago, I ended up with a silver Trail Edition with KDSS and the navigation computer/screen. I think I got one of the only Trail Editions in the northwest. I didn't really want the navigation computer, but I really like it now and I'm glad I was forced to take it.

I have never been so happy with a car in my life. Because it is so boxy and you sit so high (especially on the Trail Ed), you don't get a good feel for where the sides and tires are, so it feels surprising huge at first, like you're going to run over every curb on right turns. But you get over it soon enough.

That SUV is beautiful. Sitting high over everyone else, as I look around at other cars, it feels like I'm in the best and most unique rig on the road. It definitely feels like the SUV of the future.

I can't speak for anyone else, but after 3000 miles, I'm fairly sure this is the perfect car for me. I didn't think I would ever love another vehicle more than my '92 pickup, but I think this might be it.

The 2010 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition is the best car I have ever owned.

Wow, you've already hit 3,000 miles? I just hit 1,300 in my TE and I leave Tuesday to add 2,500 more.

I wish I could keep it new forever.

I felt the exact same way when I got my 2010. I went from an 06 to the 10 and felt like everytime I turned I was going to run over something but that soon faded. I got mine as a "birthday present" (I got it for my 28th bday Nov 28th) I had also gotten my 2006 as a wedding present back in 06. Lets just say the Hubby does great! : )
