Pulling in 4low?

Anyone have good stories or feedback about pulling power in 4 low?
I just pulled a friends stuck Home Depot rental truck (2wd) uphill on the side of his yard and it had no traction. If you ask me it was a monster feat!

I grenaded a transmission in a jeep once trying to flip another vehicle upright in 4-Hi.. lesson learned, always use 4-Lo.

Pulled this thing out. Guy said it was 10K lbs, but I think that might be GVWR, not curb weight. Really, the stretch/rebound of the kinetic rope is what made it possible. It wouldn't have budged as I was spinning 3-4 tires, if using a static rope.

Probably was close to 10k. A crew cab superduty dually with a diesel is over 8700lbs curb

Ye then with that steel flatbed over the sheet metal stocker. It was probably close.

Pulled this kid out before he had a chance to tear up the entire mountain. He shouldn't have been out there with those tires in the first place but he continued trying to go up the hill. I was chained up (rears) so it wasn't very tough but like most pics, the hill is steeper than it appears.

Not a nod, thank you, or even much of an acknowledgement of my existence. Weird.

I wish I had pictures to back this up, but... An eighteen-wheeler had jack-knifed in the snow so that the road was blocked. Because there wasn't an easy way around we began waiting for a wrecker to get him unstuck. I asked if he had a chain so that I could pull him out. He laughed at me but was willing to try it.

I was smiling like a mule eating briars when Betsy (my 2010 SR5) pulled him out. 4L and a bit of sliding around finally cleared enough snow off the road for me to get traction. I inched him out and we all went on our merry way!

But he had a 4wd ford.. He can go anywhere :doh:
