pulls to the left when braking... brakes are good???

I know this is old but I'm having the same issues with the LBJ. Both LBJs I have are OEM. However when I just replaced my LCA bushing with white line I busted a lbj boot removing it. I don't want to reuse the ball joint with a ripped boot so I put the old one back on temporarily till could get another one. As I put everything back together I noticed the tie rod is loose as hell in that bore causing the wheel to be VERY sloppy. Why would the bore be larger?

manufacturing defect. take the parts back to where you bought them from as this is a safety hazard and they will have something fail.

Did you disconnect the tie rod when removing the ball joint to replace the arm bushings?

I actually just figured out the issue! I raised the left front tire off the ground and wiggled it back and forth. Lots of side to side play. The LBJ bore is fine, it's the damn OTR stud. The castle nut wasn't able to torque down which couldn't even press the tie rod in to place. The stud is completely obliterated some how. I'm shocked I didn't notice this when I put everything back together. I think it went on at first because the car drove fine before the alignment. But after the alignment the tech probably adjusted the toe causing movement in the tie road which led to it coming loose.

So long story. I took it back to the shop after the alignment and they said..
Tech- you're gonna need to replace the whole knuckle on the vehicle
Me- no the lower ball joint separates from the knuckle, can't you just replace that?
Tech- oh I'm not familiar with these trucks, you're right! Also the tie rod end is shot
Me- okay I guess I can do that, can you guys get genuine parts?
Tech- Moog is far better than OEM

I was like whatever you stupid noob. I waited for the estimate and the tech came out and gave me a sheet of paper with everything listed.
Total came out to be $815....... Like no
They were gonna charge me $215 for one moog ball joint... Like WTF

You can easily do that yourself in about an hour or two but if you don't have the tools or capability then go somewhere else and bring Toyota parts with you.

Do it yourself. You can buy tools and still save a bunch of cash over that ridiculous quote they gave.

Don't do anything beyond your comfort zone. But you have got this!

I know how to to replace ball joints and tie rods haha. The problem was I was getting an alignment after my LCA install something was effed up on the tie rod. It was pretty dangerous to drive home. You think they let me work on the truck in the shop? No.. I didn't want to drive it home but I did

I had the same problem as OP. The bore is larger

The quote and the comment about MOOG is ridiculous, but why on earth do you think they'd let you work in their shop? Unless you've got some sort of personal relationship with the owner, I'd be highly surprised if any shop would allow that!

Yeah I was responding to the guys telling me to do it myself. Of course I would rather do that. But at the time it was in the shop and I had to try hard to let them give me back the vehicle to drive home it was so dangerous.

Ah, that makes sense. Hopefully you made it home OK!

Is this on an toyota oem ball joint?

My car pulls to the left as well. I attributed that to an over powered TBU setup in the front with rear drums which are likely not working. My shocks are quite old as well.

I also get a snap noise when making a left turn at low speeds. I know I squashed the tie rod boot, when I replaced the LBJ. Now I'm concerned about this bore issue.

I looked at the part number on the boot and it appears to be an OEM LBJ for the tacomas.. I think I've read somewhere where I'm thread about converting to those and they said the tie rod hole is indeed larger..

Have you ever replaced you LCA bushings? I had a horrible barke pull with shot bushings
