Wife has an 08 4th gen Sport and I have 11 5th LE… Works for us having 2 T4Rs!

However I have been thinking about giving her my LE and buying a 14 TE.

I looked for the last two months for pre owned 4th gens with under 50k miles and couldn't find anything within 300 miles for a decent price. I was specifically looking for a Limited or Sport. I found a 2008 Limited a couple days ago with under 30k miles and they were asking $26,000. I offered $23,000 and they said no. I guess it was meant for me to purchase the 14 Trail. I paid $34,900 prior to taxes, doc fees so the deal was too difficult to pass on.

I feel like I took now, I paid more than that for my 2013 SR5. That my friend is a great price.

All true, unless you have more than 2 kids... So we will see if we don't stop at 2, we not have an option. The third row on the 4R is close to useless.

Also considering sequoia too actually, but I don't really want a V8

if your considering the sequoia, I would look into the gx460. its just slightly less mpg than the 4runner but a lot better than the sequoia. added benefit is you get the LE and TE in one package.

you cant afford to get a v6 in the sequoia, too much weight to move with a v6.

I paid $1050 less for my SR5 four months ago (prior the anniversary discount) from the same dealer but feel the additional cost on the Trail was surely worth it. Germain in your area of Columbus, OH has a white Trail w/ KDSS listed on their website for $35,015 so I simply asked my sales person to beat that price. When signing the paperwork, the manger said "congrats on very aggressive pricing". I believe that statement to be accurate.

As far as the Man card goes. I see a lot of woman driving 4 Runners, and Jeeps.
I can't say it is a "Boys" only club. And when you have two of them in the barn . It's a push. What's a guy going to do?

You need to get a couple of custom window stickers or licence plate frames that say "My other car is also a 4runner"

Don't forget, each sticker adds 5 horsepower.

Very true. My wife is one of the reasons I've had 3. Yesterday, she says out of the blue, "we need to go wheeling!" Dang, what a woman!

IMO, the Sequoia has lots more room. GX has plenty, but if you have more than 2 kids (all that gear to move), I could see it becoming "small". I agree the GX (build quality is different....read:better....., and TONS more toys) is tons better (value-wise) than a Seq. Seq don't come with a V6. 5.7 V8 is the only engine I believe. There is/used to be a 4.7 V8. I can't remember where I saw that, but practically every dealer I've seen it, it had the five seven.

The sequoia is way bigger than the 4runner. IMHO, not a fan of the current sequoia. Its actually too big and the IRS just kills it for me. I like the 1st gen sequoia much better. Starting to see a few of those modded heavily these days. I do like the 5.7 thats in the current sequoia though.

Had the Cooper AT3's installed this morning. The owner of the tire shop looked at me funny when I told him what vehicle they were for. He had remembered me from 4 months ago when I did the same with the SR5. I said "bought another one". As soon as I returned home from the tire install, the weathertechs arrived. Tried to get front tint done but didn't have any available openings, so next week for that. Need to wash both due to the rain we had yesterday but wife is finishing her thesis for her masters program, and I have daddy daycare duties. Once cleaned up I will post some pics together.

I'm actually trying to work a deal on trading my f150 for a new TE as we speak. So I'll have a 4th gen 4runner and a 5th gen 4runner. I actually trust my '08 4runner with 120k miles more than my 2012 f150 with 37k miles.

We have a 4th gen SR5 ('06 V8) and a 5th gen ('13 Limited) -- both black and are aptly named "#4" and "#5".
