Updated 5/18/12: Lift Install

The day I bought it

First mod was replacing the shift knob, started out with a nice leather knob from Momo but it seemed a bit smallish
so i searched high and low only to settle on this $7 Walmart special. it looks great :biggrin2:

Next up was some new rubber (the stock 245,s just looked lost to me), 275/55r20 Nitto Crosstek's and a set of AVS vent visors.

Next was a 3Fer. 1) Tinted the two front windows @ 35% and put a 20% strip across the windsheild. 2) Added the OEM mud flaps,
and 3) A Yakima LoadWarrior cargo basket

Thats it for now. Got a set of DeeZee CUV boards on order will post a couple pics when i get them mounted.

Thanks for looking :hatsoff:

----------------UPDATED 11/29/11------------------

DeeZee boards added :reddance:

looks good except for the pats flag :)

Thank you! Sorry but the "Patriots flag mod" stays

I wanna start by saying I love those tires. But you really need the mega rack.

Thanks!! To my surprise the Nitto's ride very nice both round town and on the highway and are much quieter than looks would lead ya to believe. Tho they do like to follow grooves a bit. Yup the rack is a bit short so def gonna get the extension. As for a mega rack, I really didn't want the rack to extend over the moon roof. I must say thou that i do like the look of the Gobi full length rack but it's over kill for my needs.

Thanks again for posting

What do you think of the tint strip on the windshield? I was considering putting a 35% one up.. I have 20% on the front windows and like it a lot, wasnt sure if the windshield strip would be obstructing... I still may just use a clear heat film on the entire front window, i dunno. Thanks for your input in advance.

I agree the Pats flag could go, but I totally understand why it wouldn't. haha! Good luck this post-season, but not too much luck!

I am also looking at getting the crossteks from a local shop.. would you mind letting us know what you paid?

Man nobody like's my Pats flag :moping: How bout I put up my Bruins flag?! :trophy: :reddance:

Ya I wasn't too sure about having the strip on the windshield at first but the tint guy assured me I would like it. He was right and I'm glad I put it on it really cuts down on the glare and doesn't obstruct my view at all. My strip is 20% and I wish I had put 5%, personally I think 35% would be much to light but just my opinion.

On the crossteks IIRC they were right around $210.00 each plus $100.00 mount/balance/align, didn't have them mounted where i bought em.

:cheers:Go PATS!!!!!! Love the the upgraded rubber.

I'd just get a second flag mount and hang em both!!!

Finally ordered the wheels, man I never thought it would be so hard to choose.

Went with the Black Rhino Imperial in 18 x 9 -12 (4.5BS) and for tires 295/65-18 Duratracs. Should have them by the end of the week and hopefully have the lift and all installed within a couple weeks. Hopefully being the key word here :D

Pic of the wheel, pic's of lift install to follow soon.

Update please.
Nothing yet but VERY soon!! A recent death in the family and some ongoing health issues have slowed the process. :(

I would say by months end we'll have wheels, tires and lift done so please stay tuned!!

Interested in selling the 275/55r20 Nitto Crosstek's ? Not mounted, just the tires.
I have some interest from a friend with a 3rd gen but nothing agreed, I'll get back to you for sure :thumb3:

Lift Installed

Finally got the lift installed today, WooT! :biggrin2: I'm really happy with how it went as we had only one minor issue with the ball joints but all else went smoothly. The final product IMO looks awesome!:thumb3: I went with 295/65r18 Duratrac's so I'm not quite done yet I've still got some trimming to do to get these to fit without rubbing.

Anyhow on to the pics.

On the lift ready to start

Left front

Frame support brace spacers

Sway bar relocates

Right rear X-Reas check valve, sorry no pic of the front check valves. Each OEM shock connects via one of these.

Rear spring comparison. I went with 2" lift rears.

Rear complete

Wheels and tires on, finally getting an idea of how it going to look

On the ground for the first time, looks good so far

On the rack for align after fixing my goof with the balljoints

The final product...WOOT!!

I do feel as though the ride is a bit "bouncy" tho, hopefully when the springs settle this will go away. Also while I am pleased with the lift and the looks I'm not happy with the alignment. I will start another thread on the alignment I guess and maybe you guys can help out.

Edit 5/12/12: Got the align issue figured out thanks to Harper. I had the ball joints installed in the uca's incorrectly

Edit 5/18/12 Springs have settled nicely it no longer feels "bouncy" to me. Actually the ride is very good, it's more truck like but in a good way.
