Question about LT C vs. P rated tires

Coming from a 2013 LE how much difference in handling will having a LT C tire make due to the stiffer/more robust sidewall? I'm a bit concerned that the P rated tire may be too squishy. Oh - and I'm downsizing to 17 inch rims. I plan on running the Cooper AT3's or maybe the Michelin LTX AT's.

Which leads me to another question - since this section is sponsored by Discount tire hopefully one of their people can answer this: I see Discount offers the ATP, I'd like to buy through Discount but want the AT3 - do you offer it(didn't see it on the website)? Says 'currently not available in the Anaheim area'??? I'm in Seattle.

I'm not sure why the website is redirecting you to the Anaheim Region but your local Discount Tire can certainly order a set of AT3 tires for you if they do not have them in stock. I suggest you contact your closest store for details.

As far as a standard load 4ply rated tire vs a LT 6ply rated tires goes, the LT 6ply rated tire will ride a little stiffer when compared to the standard load tire but really the difference is minimal, especially at the correct operating pressure. It would be a different story If you were switching to an 8 ply rated or 10 ply rated LT tire.
