Question about NAV and setting up route preferences

I have a quick question about the Nav system. I believe that at this point the nav in my LE is trying to guide me away from toll roads, which often leads to disastrous consequences (such as me yelling obscenities at the system and the wife cursing me). How do I change the route preferences so that the nav stops avoiding toll booths?
Any help would be great for my psychological health and my wife's!

There is an option in the NAV that you can set to avoid toll roads, as well as one for highways, traffic, etc. Sounds like yours is set to avoid toll roads. Push the apps button and then maps and options and you should get to it (I think - I'm in my office and doing this from memory). At any rate, should be an easy fix.

I don't believe the 2011 has Entune, so the instructions above may not match the buttons you have, but the 2011 nav still has the same option to 'avoid toll roads' that you can toggle on and off in the settings. I went through the same thing in mine. :)

The entune / nav in my 2012 is the biggest piece of crap ever. It's getting yanked out in the next couple of weeks for something better.

Chej, that's a route preference. Set a destination (doesn't matter where), then click on "ROUTE" (bottom) "PREFERENCES". Then you can toggle on and off various settings.

I agree the navigation is sub par in the 4runner. Here is an odd question. How do I cancel our route? I put in my destination and then later decide I don't want to go. I can't seem to cancel it and it just continually reroutes my route. I'll have to open up the book I guess, because I can't figure out from the unit. Anyone have any ideas?

You can stop it by voice too, just press your voice button and say "cancel next destination" and when it asks to confirm say "yes" (or enter, i forget which off hand)

Good luck

KMILLER- That was exactly it! Thank you so much!
Thank you everyone for your help- this is why I love this forum- although my wife thinks I am a little cuckoo for liking it so much and spending time on it! :)
