Question about Rims/Tires

Hey guys,

I have 2012 4runner Limited. I am going to be getting Fuel Octane rims and Goodyear Duratracs 285/70/17. The size of the rim is 17x8.5, but I am not sure which offset on these rims should I get or if this combo would even work. Here are all the available options:

http://www.mhtwheels.com/pdf/specs/D508-D509 Octane2.pdf

Also, do you think this rim/tire will fit on stock Limited suspension, until I get a lift installed? I will be getting Icon Stage 2 lift kit, it's just a matter of getting the lift now or getting the rims/tires first if they fit on stock.

Thanks.

6 on 5.5 with the negative offset so backspacing is around 4.5

He can get away with 5 and quarter backspacing.. Doesn't have to be exactly 4.5, no?

I guess it also depends on the tire size and type. 285's will probably need exactly a 4.5 backspacing to fit without a lift. If you went with 275's you might have more wheel option. Unless you are planning to lift , then it don't matter.

Thank you guys for your replies.

I read up some more, and looks like the rim that will be the perfect fit is (correct me if I am wrong):

17x8.5 size
6x55 Bolt Pattern
-5 offset
4.5" Backspacing
106.4 Bore size

Those will fit fine.

I see a lot of these threads come up often. What you should really do is check with the people you are purchasing the wheels from. While there is an abundant of good info here, they will be the ones that can guarantee that the wheels will fit. If you somehow misinterpret info given to you on a forum, that info will not ship those wheels for a return. Nor will they install the correct ones.

Just some friendly advice.

Yep, you nailed it! The D5097858445's are the ones that would fit the best but would still most likely have minor rubbing without a lift running 285's.
