Question about the vsc and atrac off/on

So the other day I went to a trail and got stuck, in order to get out I used the center lock diff button once all tires where lit up green and the diff orange on my dash where on I was able to get out, but this light on my dash came on that says vsc off and won't go off while in awd with the diff lock on when I turn the diff lock of the vsc light goes away according to the manual it says the light should go off in a minute or so or else take it to the dealer. What should I? I'm confused to how this works, its my first awd 4x4 veh and i'm just going according to the manual should I take it in or it's normal? Its a 2001 4runner

Sounds to me it's operating normal.

When in 4x4 with center diff unlocked (AWD) the TRAC & VSC systems operate as normal. After you lock the center diff (4wd) the VSC is disabled and the TRAC system continues to operate as normal.

Your systems is performing as it should.
