Question on interest rates from Toyota Financial

Who do I call though? just the 800 # onthe back of the payment coupon?

Did not get any kind of promo, no rebate, no financing, nada. Just walked in one day, negotiated down to 32.5k and went straight to the finance guy.

I have not gone to my local CU or bank but will do this soon, do I have to be a member or can I just walk in and do this?

You can walk into any bank and check their rates or even call them. Some credit unions in my area are open to the public so you will have to check on that. I think they are going to tell you that you are out of luck. It was your decision to purchase at that time so you opted for no promos. I think you best bet to get a better rate will most likely be your local back/credit union. You can try calling Toyota Financial and see what they say as well. I would call the 800# they give you and they can direct you to the correct person. Its also going to depend on your FICO score as to what your rate is. If you have good credit you shouldn't have a problem refinancing the loan through any lender.

You don't have to get your financing locally. Just because you live in upstate NY, doesn't mean you have to get your car loan, mortgage or any other loan in NY.

I know that Citi and Wachovia would be happy to work with you on refinancing and consolidating your credit card bills.

Just a thought.

Cheers....

If you can get a USAA account you should be able to get 5.99% without any problem.

I'm seeing 3.9%/60 mos. or 1500 cash back on 4runner and Sequoia on buyatoyota.com.

Just spoke with a TFS rep, said they are not setup for refinancing... blehh... I'll take my business else where...

I'm eligible for USAA products but the 4R isn't in my name... don't know how that would work.

You can go to one of the 3 credit reporting companies and they will tell you your credit rating or you can go to http://www.freecreditreport.com and sign up to get your credit report. That should tell you what you need to know.

Good luck

I would not recommend this site, it is commercial and the free report will cost you an enrollment in some sort of program. They will usually ask for a credit card to get the free report. One site that was established following the changes to the FCRA is https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp All consumers are entitled to a free copy from each of the three major bureaus per year. However, your FICO score will cost you some money.

You can buy a 1-time report from all 3 bureaus plus real fico scores from myfico.com. They DO NOT sign you up for a subscription.

what does TFS define as Tier 1? My guess would be 720 but I wonder if they may use additional scoring models specific to automotive lending.
