A few questions from a potential 4Runner owner.

Has anyone replaced the power window buttons for the passenger and rear windows so they are all Auto Up and Down like the driver? I know the GX 470 has Auto Up/Down on all windows.

What about opening all the windows with the remote control? Again, like the GX.

Anyone taken theirs on a track? I know it isn

I'll take a stab at a couple of your questions:

Has anyone replaced the power window buttons for the passenger and rear windows so they are all Auto Up and Down like the driver? I know the GX 470 has Auto Up/Down on all windows.
As far as I know, this idea has been discussed but no one has actually done it. It was discussed on another forum between owners of late-model 4Runners, including 2003 models. The general belief is that changing the switches in the door panel would do the trick, but nobody has reported that they actually tried it.

What about opening all the windows with the remote control? Again, like the GX.
Not that I am aware of. The remote only rolls the rear window down. It does not roll the rear window up.

In hindsight, I would have to agree that XREAS is a must, if it works as well as people claim. Without it, this suv is a beast in the corners! I knew what I was getting into, but it's a crying shame because the V8 engine is such a blast to wind the piss out of, and one must get on the binders hard before that corner comes up! Kind of like the 60's American cars.

Ok...some answers:

Fording depth is about 18-20" of water. Limitation is the rear axle breather, which you can extend (to increase fording depth to about 27", which is a lot!). Please see this link:

Breakover angle is 24 degrees.

Side slope and etc....i have to do some looking up.

XREAS is not adjustable like the GX470's system. However, it is probably a better handling system than Gx's system. It does more than just stiffening up the shocks (like in Sport mode for GX470). XREAS is also seen in the new Audi RS6 (biturbo A6 series).

Hope this helps.
