Quick Circuit Help Needed

I'm looking to add a few small accent lights tucked under my sliders, easy enough. I'd like for them to come on with the interior lights when you unlock the car. It should be easy enough to do an add a circuit onto the fuse that powers the interior lights, but I'd also like to be able to put a switch inline so I can switch it on or off. Someone has probably done this already, any help?

Well it may not be as quick and easy as you think. Under the quick links under the 5th gen tab you click to get here (mods write-ups and pictures) there is a link to the FSM that Nashman provided. In there are electrical drawings but they are prior to the 2015 4runner. They might still apply; but you would have to verify that.

You will also have to get the wires from your slider lights inside the vehicle somehow. The load these new lights draw added to the load already on that circuit will determine if the interior lights circuit you plan to use will work. You may want to go with a new circuit if you have room for a new fuse or add a fuse as described is a few threads here - search on Antmans mods.

Also these lights will need protection somehow to prevent them from getting damaged by road stuff, rocks, etc. Attaching them to the sliders and making waterproof connections may prove to be a challenge. Good luck.
