Ok so I've searched, talked to nashman, but I'm having trouble downloading the pdf's. Saw harpers google doc's but I'm having trouble opening that too. Only one I've gotten to open was the collision repair manual, but can't seem to find the center console part.

Can someone send me the pdf or even just a screen shot of the center console removal. I'm having trouble figuring it out, need to pull my carpet since it smells like poop lol.

10mm socket for bolts holding center tunnel, hex head for the screws holding the cubby hole.

You're only missing the two bolts half way between the center stack and the storage bin.

Hopefully this covers it for you.

Edit -- you don't need to remove the cubby to remove the tunnel... but I was on a roll

This piece you want to pull at from a angle. In this case towards the drivers door.

Way easier if you pull up from the back (near the box).

I'm having to swap center consoles as my dog basically destroyed the tunnel when I left him for 10 minutes in the car. So basically I just need to remove 4 bolts and the 2 guide screws and it should pull out?

It looks like the Toyota parts stores sell the entire console with arm rest, so I'm just swapping one for the next, correct?

Yeah I totally get how to remove the actual upper console, I have to remove the entire console tunnel, that includes the arm-rest box as well. To that point I think the document posted earlier showing the main bolts that have to come out is key.

How do you remove the 4WD selector?

If you're just removing the console to get to something under it, there is no need to remove the 4WD selector OR the gear shift knob. The console lifts off over both of them.
